The countdown to “The Little Mermaid” is on. On Wednesday, Disney celebrated the upcoming premiere of its live-action reimagining of the studio’s animated musical classic by releasing new character posters, a new teaser, and the first single from the film’s upcoming soundtrack.

Fans are getting their first proper listen to Halle Bailey’s rendition of the film’s classic song, Part of Your World, which was briefly heard in previous trailers and sneak peeks. The song is available to stream on Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music, along with a visualizer video that can be seen on YouTube.

2. Rema teases upcoming music ‘Charm’

Rave of the moment, Rema has shared a snippet for a new song he will be releasing on Friday, April 28, titled “Charm.” The Mavin Records singer, who currently holds the position for the highest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart by a Nigerian, shared a snippet for the song many feel is about to become one of the biggest songs of the year.

Rema, who announced his India and North America tour, has continued to dominate the airwaves as “Calm Down” has surpassed over 200 million streams on Spotify and over 200 million views on YouTube as well.

3. South Africa: Uncle Waffles links with Ciara

Lungelihle “Uncle Waffles” Zwane is undeniably well acquainted when it comes to international stars and the circle just keeps getting bigger. South Africa has been marveling at her international connections following her meet-up with American singer Ciara. The amapiano sensation shot up the trend list when she shared a video of her doing her viral “Yahyuppiyah” challenge with the “Like A Boy” hitmaker.

DJ Uncle Waffles performed at Coachella in the past two weekends, making history as the first amapiano DJ to grace the main stage in a prime-time slot. Following that, many praised her for delivering a great performance with choreography and high energy. Ciara also shared a snippet of the performance on her Instagram stories, gushing over the musician. “I just love Uncle Waffles. She’s everything.”

4. Travis Scott’s latest shoe release has social media scrambling

Travis Scott and Nike have Twitter in shambles over their latest collaboration. On April 26, the shoe company dropped the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Olive” sneaker online. According to reports, the design is a women’s exclusive release inspired by Scott’s classic Air Jordan 6 unveiled in 2019. “Expressing a mix of ‘Sail/University Red/Black/Medium Olive,’ the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Olive’ features black suede upper bases accented by off-white leather overlays,” reports said.

The sneakers also come with multiple sets of laces and unique packaging marking the partnership. The shoe’s retail price is $150 and is rumored to be the last release in the collaboration series. Once the shoe became available, sneakerheads flocked onto the internet to get their hands on a pair. While some were lucky, others were not and made it known on social media.

5. Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount shares positive update after undergoing surgery on pelvic issue

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount says he is “feeling good” and hoping for a swift recovery after undergoing surgery on his pelvis. Mount could be out for the season having had the minor procedure addressing pelvic discomfort that has seen him limited to brief cameo appearances since early March, but for the time being the 24-year-old is staying positive and looking forward to returning to action.

In a post on Instagram, Mount wrote: “Had a minor procedure yesterday to sort out a discomfort I had for a while. Everything went well and I’m feeling good. Time to rest but can’t wait to get back to training in the coming weeks! Thanks for all your messages of support and a massive thank you to the medical team, doctors and nurses for looking after me.” Many will be wondering whether Mount has played his final game for Chelsea, with his future at the club uncertain as talks over a new contract drag on and Arsenal and Liverpool sniffing around him.
