British couture house Ralph & Russo owned by Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo nailed it again this week at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion week 2018. The collection was so glamorous that everyone is now wondering if Meghan Markle would favour the brand as she ties the knot on May 19th, 2018 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.
The collection features stunning feminine pieces including a silk crepe kimono with hand-painted peonies, ivory crystals, organza petals, and ombré fringing and tassels. Other details on the Ralph & Russo designs include cute tiers of shivering ostrich feathers plus chain mail, jet embroidery and silk floss thread-work. Clusters of pearls and crystals caught the light from every surface and fold, and miles upon miles of tulle. The designers explored in many iterations and colours, from pale mint and peridot to vivid chartreuse, emerald, red, or canary yellow.
This season’s star bride was the Brazilian influencer, Camila Coelho who made her big runway debut looking like a real-life princess. The gown, an off-white double duchess confection with a draped bodice, floral ruching, hand embroidered with pearlescent micro-beads, 3-D Swarovski jewelled leaves, silk floss flowers, and metallic silk thread embellishments, was one weighty piece of work, but Coelho pulled it off flawlessly.
