Afrobeats megastar Davido has been spotted in the studio with American R&B legend Usher. The clip of the duo in the studio emerged on Tuesday, August 30, and has since generated excitement amongst fans. It’s normal for fans to speculate the possibility of a collaboration whenever two artists are spotted together in the studio.

Earlier in the week, Davido and Usher were captured on stage when the Afrobeats megastar performed a show in Las Vegas that had the latter in attendance. Footages from that show see Davido teaching Usher African dance moves as the two thrilled the audience. This recent clip suggests that there might be a possible collaboration in the mix. Recall that the African hitmaker has teased that he will be releasing his fourth studio album this year and with him in album mode, Usher might just be another addition to the mix.

2. Megan Thee Stallion confirms role in ‘She-Hulk: Attorney At Law’

Megan The Stallion is making her Marvel Universe debut as she recently confirmed a role in “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law” in an interview. In the interview, she expresses how Queen Latifah and Ice Cube inspire her to take her career further beyond her passion for music. “When I look at them, it inspires me to take it further than just music,” she shared. “I don’t feel like I’m only going to be an actress — I feel like I’m also going to be a director, and I’m also going to be a producer.”

The “Hot Girl” also expressed her interest in wanting to appear in a “Bring It On” reboot and playing Gabrielle Union’s character, Isis. The “Traumazine” rapper recently made her acting debut on an episode of “P-Valley” as her alter-ego Tina Snow.

3. South Africa: Lady Du blasts the SAMAs and takes a swipe at Musa Keys

The South African music industry is still dealing with the aftermath of the 28th South African Music Awards (SAMAs). Since the awards ceremony, several artists have gone public with their thoughts on the winners and those who lost out. Big names in the SA music scene were missing in action at this year’s ceremony. Lady Du, who is one of the top female vocalists, was also absent. Despite not submitting her music for consideration by the judging committee, Lady Du still took shots at the SAMAs.

In several tweets, Lady Du questioned how Musa Keys walked away with Record of the Year for the song “Vula Mlomo” featuring Sir Trill and Nobantu Vilakazi. “How does a person get a tender for organizing artists to perform on stage, then the artist he is managing gets the biggest award of the night???” she ranted. The singer further called for people to “stay woke” as she explained why she and other artists had opted to ditch the awards.

“Do you know why a lot of us didn’t go or even perform there? Because we already knew who was going to get what!!! The set up was too obvious Stay woke niyeke ukus yenza amabari!” she tweeted. The “Umsebenzi Wethu” hitmaker also blasted Musa Keys for not mentioning his collaborators in his acceptance speech.

4. Nigeria bans non-Nigerian models and voice-over artists from ads

In a move aimed at supporting national talent, Nigeria has banned all foreign models and voice-over artists in advertisements produced in the West African nation. “All advertisements, advertising, and marketing communications materials targeted or exposed on the Nigerian advertising space are to use only Nigerian models and voice-over artists,” the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) said in a statement released to the media. “Advertisers, advertisement agencies, media houses, advertising community and the general public are hereby enjoined to take note.”

While the Director General of ARCON says current campaigns and advertisements that feature non-native models and voice actors are permitted to run their full terms, the ban takes effect October 1. ARCON further stated that the move comes from the Nigerian Government’s aim of nurturing its own talent in Nigerian advertising. The government also wants to create more employment for young Nigerians and bring economic expansion.

5. PSG agree €20m deal to sign Carlos Soler from Valencia on five-year contract

Paris Saint-Germain has agreed to a €20 million deal to sign Carlos Soler from Valencia. Soler is set to become PSG’s sixth summer transfer window signing. He will sign a five-year contract in Paris and complete his medical on Wednesday, August 31. PSG’s de-facto sporting director Luis Campos has targeted Soler all summer and a deal worth €20m (£17.2m/$20m) has now been struck. Valencia are struggling financially, which has played a role in their decision to let a key asset leave for a cut-down price.

Soler’s arrival could be followed by another signing soon. It is understood that Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz will undergo his PSG medical this week. Meanwhile, the French club hold continued interest in adding a center-back before the deadline on September 1.
