3. South Africa: SA amputee dancer makes ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ history with incredible performance

South African-born dancer Musa Motha recently made Britain’s Got Talent history when he achieved the show’s first-ever group Golden Buzzer, blowing away the judges and fans with his act. Musa, 27, is an amputee after being diagnosed with cancer. “I was a football player before I got amputated. After my amputation I fell in love with music. My friends were dancing at the time and I asked them to teach me how to dance,” he explained. He recounted how his friends taught him to his crutches as “legs.” His love of music and dance brought him to the stage of the popular show where his routine pushed everyone out of their seats, and he saw many in tears. The judges and crowd gave him a standing ovation.

In a moment that left many with goosebumps, the crowd called for him to get a Golden Buzzer, which would put him straight through to the semifinals of this year’s competition. The judges agreed. Musa hopes to inspire with his performances, and the response since it the show aired proves he has done that. Legendary judge Simon Cowell stood alongside Musa and the other judges on stage and hailed him as a “hero.”

4. Blue Ivy makes her “Renaissance World Tour” debut dancing alongside Beyoncé

Beyoncé is only six cities into her “Renaissance World Tour,” but she has already floored concertgoers with a surprise appearance by her daughter Blue Ivy Carter. The mother-daughter duo commanded the stage before a crowd of thousands in Paris, France, on Friday, May 26. As previously reported, the tour stop in the City of Lights had several notable celebrities in the crowd. Blue Ivy, 11, appeared onstage alongside Beyoncé and her troop of dancers for performances of “Black Parade” and “My Power” from “The Lion King: The Gift” soundtrack.

The preteen effortlessly executed the choreography while dressed in sliver cargo pants and a shimmering silver mock-neck top. Her cool demeanor was accented with a pair of shades as she led the backup dancers down the runway-like stage. Fans have playfully and affectionately referred to Blue Ivy as her mother’s manager for years, but on Friday, she proved she really is a star in the making.

5. Mauricio Pochettino signs Chelsea contract to succeed Frank Lampard as Blues boss

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly signed the contract that will see him become Chelsea’s new manager in the 2023-24 campaign. The Blues have worked their way through three managers this season, with Champions League winner Thomas Tuchel relieved of his duties in September 2022. Graham Potter then lasted just 31 games at the helm, with Frank Lampard returning to Stamford Bridge as interim boss. Several candidates have been linked with the most prominent of Premier League posts since then, but reports say that Pochettino has agreed to take the reins. The former Southampton and Tottenham head coach has been out of work since leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2021-22 season.

Pochettino boasts plenty of experience when it comes to the English top-flight, while he also guided Spurs to the Champions League final in 2019, but he will be inheriting a Chelsea squad that has underperformed badly this term. They are destined to finish in the bottom-half of the table despite investing around £600 million ($741m) across the last two transfer windows. Lampard’s final game in charge of Chelsea will be against Newcastle on Sunday, with Argentine tactician Pochettino then set to pick up the managerial baton heading towards the summer transfer window and another rebuilding project.
