Calvin Klein Announces Closure Of Its RTW Line 205W39NYC
A fashion and culture enthusiast who's really a food loving…
Calvin Klein recently announced that it will be closing its luxury 205W39NYC collection thereby closing its office in Milan and laying off staff in New York. This is coming after its Chief Creative Officer, Raf Simons left the company in December 2018.
Among the staff affected by the lay off is President of Calvin Klein 205W39NYC, Michelle Kessler-Sanders, who will stay with the company until June 2019.
Initially, the plan was to replace 205W39NYC with another collection but none has been created to replace the line at this time. However, Chief Executive, Steve Shiffman has been said to still have plans to develop “aspirational” products.
While the search for its next Creative Director continues, the brand aims to concentrate on its underwear and denim lines.
It’s quite sad to see a 100 employees lose their job but we look forward to the new creative direction Calvin Klein would be taking.
