The atmosphere during this past week’s fashion events was nothing short of spectacular—a fitting report card for the industry. As is customary with fashion weeks, the excitement stemmed from designers’ creative ingenuity, blending everyday wear with stunning red carpet glamour. Paris Fashion Week transformed into a vibrant playground for fashion’s key players, where stars showcased their unique styles against a captivating backdrop. While designers unveiled their visions for the upcoming Spring/Summer collections, the BOF 500 Gala lit up the night with bold and daring outfits, setting the tone for the season ahead.

This season may bring its share of surprises, but the fashion world is well-prepared. The mood board-worthy ensembles seen last week offered endless inspiration for fashionistas eager to stand out. A significant trend was the incorporation of embellishments on otherwise simple silhouettes, with shimmer and shine dominating both party-ready attire and elevated daywear. It was clear that everyone aimed to make unforgettable statements. Heavy fur coats made a bold appearance, alongside high-slit dresses that showcased elegance and flair.

The Looks

Beyoncé traded in her cowgirl aesthetic for a dazzling party look at the Sir Davis launch party in Paris. Dressed in a stunning golden Gucci gown, she exuded vintage glamour, accessorizing with a hand-crystallized Chrishabana clutch that resembled the Sir David whiskey bottle. From her metallic platform shoes to her old Hollywood-inspired blonde waves, everything about her look sparkled. Meanwhile, her protégé, Chloe Bailey, clearly got the memo, arriving in a shimmering deep red dress layered with a luxurious fur coat. Together, they showcased a powerful moment in rich auntie chic.

Cardi B weathered the storm surrounding her marriage to Offset with undeniable style at the September 2024 Paris Fashion Week, accompanied by her stylist, Kollin Carter. She wowed the crowd in an all-black Mugler ensemble, featuring a haircut that mirrored the dress’s neckline. Next, she turned heads in a Halloween-inspired look by Rick Owens in brown tones, complete with a futuristic-caped silhouette and Gothic beauty choices. Also, Cardi dressed for the weather in a striking green Balmain fur coat dress paired with sturdy Vivienne Westwood shoes. With each look, she silenced her critics with her sartorial authority.

While some attendees opted for vintage designs to achieve a timeless appeal, Ayo Edebiri made a striking statement in a fresh-off-the-runway Loewe dress at the BOF 500 Gala in Paris. The impressive number, from Loewe’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, highlighted traditional florals and textures, yet it emphasized innovative tailoring and distinct silhouettes. At first glance, Edebiri’s dress might seem like a classic midi floral piece, but the structured undergarment supporting the sheer overlay added a unique twist.
