Beauty is sometimes philosophical, championing a movement or a message, and for this new generation, a vibe. Last week, our best beauty looks were so fiercely attractive that they gave us strong and powerful vibes as embodied by the women on this list.

As usual there was a variety of stunning hairstyles, makeup looks and overall beauty vibes. Uyo-based fashion designer, Ifiok Akan of House of Borah captured our attention in a gorgeous Ankara-inspired beauty look as she shared photos to celebrate Nigeria’s 60th Independence on October 1st.

Hair

Fresh off her newly released, self-titled album, Alicia, singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys was all fierce for her British GQ cover where she wore her hair in one of the most stylish double plaits you’ll ever see.

London-based Nigerian fashion influencer and budding actress, Temi Otedola, rocked a simple yet edgy big grey braids styled in a simple bun. Her entire beauty look was so effortless yet so stunning. Black hair is beautiful and we are forever in awe of its versatility.

Makeup

Last week, it was the eyes for us and the best makeup looks came with enough inspiration for all eye makeup, from nude-inspired to smokey eyes! We love an intense purple eye with a bit of shimmer as seen on models Joan Smalls and Arame Fall. Sporting a gold-infused smokey eyes, former Big Brother Naija housemate, Erica Nlewedim was such a delight to behold in her impeccable face beat by Abuja makeup artist Ronaldthe7th for her meet and greet with fans in the city. black makeup looks.
