There are reports that the coronavirus vaccine will be available to the general public in the next few months. However, many African Americans are scared to take the vaccine, which has been created in record time. Former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton are vowing to take the vaccine to calm fears.

During a December 3 interview with SiriusXM host Joe Madison, Obama said about taking the vaccine, “People like Anthony Fauci, who I know, and I’ve worked with, I trust completely. So, if Anthony Fauci tells me this vaccine is safe and can vaccinate, you know, immunize you from getting COVID, absolutely, I’m going to take it.”

He also added, “I promise you that when it’s been made for people who are less at risk, I will be taking it. I may end up taking it on TV or having it filmed, just so that people know that I trust this science, and what I don’t trust is getting COVID.”

2. Nigeria: 2020 Headies nominations are out

On December 4, 2020, Nigeria’s foremost music award show announced nominations for their upcoming ceremony. The submissions considered were projects released between July 2019 and August 2020. This will be the 14th edition of the award founded by Ayo Animashaun and his company, HipHop World. Nigerian stars like Burna Boy, Fireboy, Wizkid, and more lead nominations.

This year, a new category — Songwriter of The Year was included. Album categories of Pop/R&B have also been split into two different categories. There will also be a new category for ‘Best Alternative Album.’ The main ceremony will be held virtually at a soon to be disclosed date.

3. South Africa: Kefilwe Mabote becomes a fast-food franchise owner

Congratulations are in order as luxury brand influencer and stylist, Kefilwe Mabote, has now joined the culinary world. On Wednesday, Kefilwe revealed that she is now the owner of the new fast-food franchise, Tasty Gallos. Kefilwe took to her social media, on Wednesday, to share the exciting news, she wrote: “Girl, you have done it again. A motto I tell myself every single day! Today, I was at lunch and the exciting news came that I was an Official Franchisee of a @tasty.gallos! I couldn’t be happier at the prospect of owning my own fast-food franchise!”

Thrilled about the new business venture, Mabote is also encouraging her fans to follow suit, urging those who are keen to tap into the world of franchising to get in touch with her.

4. Ghana: Akufo-Addo, Mahama commit to peace

The two main contenders for this year’s presidential election, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), will sign the Presidential Elections Peace Pact (PEPP) today to commit them and their parties and supporters to non-violence, the resort to the judicial process to seek redress in case of disputes and work towards eradicating vigilantism.

The PEPP process is being convened by the National Peace Council (NPC), the Office of the National Chief Imam, the National House of Chiefs, and the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG).

5. Ndidi finally returns to Leicester City

Wilfred Ndidi finally made his much-awaited return for Leicester City in their 1-0 defeat against Zorya in Thursday’s Europa League game. The 23-year-old midfielder has been out of action since September when he suffered a groin injury against Burnley.

The Nigeria international was handed a starting role in the encounter and took his position in front of the back-four along with Hamza Choudhury. The midfielder gave a good account of himself on his return but his effort was not enough to save the King Power Stadium outfit from defeat.
