Womenswear brand Aya Velase, has always been about providing the balance between intense power and vulnerability, which is exactly what the brand showcased on Day 3 of the just concluded African Fashion International (AFI) Joburg Fashion Week 2018. The brand stayed true to its usual narrative, presenting a collection that represented something many modern women are proud of femininity.
In view of the collection, one is somehow transported from having a simple vision into being confident, a bit futuristic and up to form. Attendees typically expect edgy looks at fashion shows – but with emphasis on real-life applications – Aya Velase, interestingly, managed to merge these two together in a powerful, feminine and entertaining collection. The message of the collection was clear: comfort in one’s skin.
With interesting pieces in the form of shorts, coats and other quirky designs, Aya Velase offered a thematic yet lush presentation.
