Every week, we track African male celebrities to capture the best of men’s fashion across the continent for your inspo. Last week, the overriding lesson came in the form of street style sets serving us a lesson in sartorial practicality with layered chains taking centre stage. African men’s fashion
To mark his 30th birthday celebration, Nigerian fashion designer Adebayo Oke-Lawal looked super dapper in a self-designed bedazzled suit set. He layered the double-breasted blazer over a long sleeve mesh top with a tie-neck that again redefined contemporary Nigerian menswear. For shoes, he went for a pair of black double monk strap shoes.
Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz elevated men’s street style in a black T-shirt and a matching pair of wide-leg pants. He layered a blue puffer jacket over the shirt and complemented the look with a pair of spanking clean white sneakers. For accessories, he wore two silver neckpieces, a black beanie and a pair of oval retro sunglasses. As a true style star, he strapped on a black snakeskin crossbody bag to complete his look.
