This was the case on Saturday, August 8, as Adama Indimi, 32, daughter of the billionaire oil magnate, Mohammed Indimi, tied the knot in a Nikkai ceremony with Kogi prince Malik Ado-Ibrahim. The marriage rites between Adama Indimi, popularly known as Presido, and Malik Ado-Ibrahim, kicked off in Maiduguri, Borno State, with the Fero Buji Gnata. The Fero Buji Gnata was followed by the Sa Lalle (henna night). The henna night is similar to a bachelorette’s night as it is a night when the bride and other young women in her life and aunts-in-law would wear velvet dresses, and the bride would put on a sequined outfit and a veil on her face. The henna tray would be brought to the bride’s house by the groom’s relatives with two candles on it.
It is believed that henna gives blessings, luck, and joy, although it is also seen as a beauty enhancer. Some brides get their future spouse’s initials hidden into their henna design. The Kaulu event followed the henna night and finally concluded with the Kai Amarya, which is the conveyance of the bride to her matrimonial home to be received by the groom’s family.

For her looks, Adama chose outfits from popular Nigerian design houses such as Toju Foyeh, Kulu, and DZYN. The bride’s family opted for various African print-designed outfits that added even more color to the various ceremonies.
