Truly, love always conquers all. Despite the global coronavirus pandemic, families are still getting together to join their children in matrimony. This was the case on Saturday, August 8, as Adama Indimi, 32, daughter of the billionaire oil magnate, Mohammed Indimi, tied the knot in a Nikkai ceremony with Kogi prince Malik Ado-Ibrahim. The Fero Buji Gnata was followed by the Sa Lalle (henna night). The henna night is similar to a bachelorette’s night as it is a night when the bride and other young women in her life and aunts-in-law would wear velvet dresses, and the bride would put on a sequined outfit and a veil on her face. The henna tray would be brought to the bride’s house by the groom’s relatives with two candles on it.
It is believed that henna gives blessings, luck, and joy, although it is also seen as a beauty enhancer. Some brides get their future spouse’s initials hidden into their henna design. There may also be symbolic designs representing joy, luck, success, beauty, and other positive qualities. Adama Indimi wedding.
