Multi-talented Afrobeats star Tekno has revealed that he has a new album on the way. This new album comes amid a backdrop of few releases from the artist in recent years. The singer made this revelation via his Instagram story on May 22 where he posted “Album done” in the announcement of his long-awaited sophomore album.

Tekno has only released one single in 2023 “Freetown” which he released in February. The upcoming album will be coming after “Old Romance” which was released in 2020 and failed to enjoy either critical or commercial acclaim. Tekno is yet to reveal the title or date of his upcoming album, however, fans can expect the body of work to drop this year.

Costa Titch’s mother calls out the National Health Laboratory Services for failing to release the test result of her late son. The South African star died in March while performing on stage; he fell twice during the performance and people presumed that the lightning and smoke on the stage affected him, hence leading to his death. A month after his death, his mother took over his Instagram account and suggested that her son was murdered.

Returning to Instagram on the 23rd of May, Costa’s mom said the toxicology test result of her son is being delayed, and without it, the police can’t do any investigation. “The National Health Laboratory Services can take months or even years to finalize toxicology tests. This means I am not the only mother in South Africa that has to wait for answers. It also means if anyone did poison my son, they could get away with murder. I’m pleading for help to get answers as even the police cannot do anything without these medical results,” she wrote.

4. Halle Bailey, Fantasia, and other stars shine in ‘The Color Purple’ trailer

A movie version of “The Color Purple” musical is headed to the big screen this Christmas with a legendary cast of actors bringing the narrative to life. The first look at the movie, released Monday, May 22, shows we’re in for a treat. Danielle Brooks reprises her role from the stage show as Sofia. Powerhouse singer Fantasia will take on the part of Celie while Taraji P. Henson will step into the character of Shug Avery.

Ciara will play Nettie as an adult with her younger version being played by “The Little Mermaid” star Halle Bailey. Rounding out the all-star cast is Colman Domingo as Mister, H.E.R. as Squeak, Aunjanue Ellis as Mama, and Deon Cole as Alfonso. When premiering the trailer, director Blitz Bazawule expressed his desire to retell the iconic story that people know so well in a new way while still remaining faithful to the original.

5. Bukayo Saka signs new Arsenal contract to end speculation over his future after stellar 2022-23 campaign

Arsenal have confirmed that Bukayo Saka has signed a new long-term contract with the North London club. Saka had been in talks over an extension with the Gunners for months, with his former deal due to expire at the end of next season. Arsenal were always confident that the 21-year-old would agree to stay, despite interest from elsewhere, and they have now announced that a new contract has been signed which will run through until the summer of 2027.

Saka follows Gabriel Martinelli and Aaron Ramsdale in signing a new contract with Arsenal. Talks are continuing with William Saliba over an extension, as Arsenal look to secure the futures of all their best young talents. This is huge news for Arsenal. Saka is the Jewel in the crown of Mikel Arteta’s impressive young squad, as he has shown with his excellent performances this season.
