There’s an orderliness to the Zac Posen Resort 2019 Collection. The 3 years the designer has had to work on the collection has seemingly made him a different kind of designer, providing a more strategic order to the ready-to-wear collection. For example, everything in the collection was categorized almost military style, from crepe suiting to evening wear.
Another thing that made this Zac Posen collection different, apart from the fact that the designer has not been on the runway for a while, is that the designer goes off script with the addition of a beautiful ombre silk jacquard gown that features a voluptuous sleeve. This look is not be something the designer would typically create, and he’s described it as having a new “in construction” quality.
There were, of course, other subtle yet pleasant surprises like a Va Va Voom party dress which the designer says this about: “It’s been a while since we’ve done a dress like this in silk faille.”
The collection is framed in a strong colour palette that features colours like blue, black and red, among others. Crafted with an ’80s lens, the collection delivers a maestro drama and a touch of practicality.
