Masculinity and iconicity, these are the two themes that rang loudly as the most stylish Black men slunk into September. Fashionable serve was the unifying aspiration. Whether they chose trendy florals or a sartorial take on utility wear, their efforts certainly made a statement and was a great way to kick start the new month.
The looks
In Nigeria, media host Taymesan looked pleasing to the eyes as he took to the streets of Lagos. His lime-colored linen two-piece suit by Nigerian fashion brand, Rhobes Clothing Company, which he wore over a white t-shirt was as refreshing as a cold drink on a sunny summer day. Paired with cheetah print boots, Taymesan’s outfit made a bold statement last week. The fact that it coordinated perfectly with the flowery print silk scarf he wore over the collar of the suit jacket was the cherry on top.
American style coach Allen Onyia gave street style his own spin as he was up and about last week. The patchwork and contrasting hues of his wide-leg pants were accented by the blue and brown palette he chose for his top part. The bold colors selection was as appealing on Allen, who cruised through the Spring Summer 2022 fashion show for the American fashion brand, Amiri and updated his Instagram with multiple views of his impressive outfit. He opted for a pair of white Nike Air Force One sneakers to add neutrality to the look.
When last week went full swing, so did the most stylish Black men and they did so in iconic looks that ran the gamut from past trends to what’s next.
