Billboard, the official music chart of the United States, has announced Wizkid’s “Essence” as the longest-charting African song. Wizkid’s fourth studio album “Made In Lagos” was also confirmed as the longest-charting African album and, together they combined to make Wizkid the longest-charting African artist. “Essence,” which features singer Tems, has enjoyed an impressive level of success in the United States reaching the Billboard Top 10 and earning a platinum plaque in the process.

Billboard announcement is a confirmation of Wizkid’s success in the United States and an addition to his stacks of accolades. With his next album “More Love, Less Ego” on the way, the singer will be looking to further break new grounds internationally.

Titled “A Day in Accra, Ghana,” the documentary was filmed shortly after the release of his latest album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers and documents his trip to the African nation. In the Spotify-partnered visual, the Compton rapper visits kids at Virgil Abloh’s Ghana Freedom skatepark. The film also captures Accra’s busy activity and aerial coastline views.

Black Coffee has been credited as producer and co-writer on a few songs on the album, which include: “Text Go Green,” “Currents, and “Overdrive.” Drake’s seventh studio album was released on Friday and immediately trended worldwide while also topping daily charts.

4. Barcelona forward, Memphis Depay visits Ghana, refurbishes Cape Coast School for Deaf and Blind

Ghanaian-Dutch footballer and forward for Barcelona FC, Memphis Depay has paid a visit to his roots. He arrived in Ghana earlier this week to enjoy his summer holidays after the end of the European football season and to continue his philanthropic works. Memphis Depay, who is born to Ghanaian father Dennis Depay, and Dutch mother Cora Schensema has been undertaking a series of projects in recent years where he donated sporting equipment and other items to the Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind. This time, he refurbished the washroom for the school in the Central Region of Ghana.

Liverpool has accepted Bayern Munich’s latest offer for Sadio Mané and the forward is due to have a medical before signing a three-year contract. Bayern is paying a guaranteed £28m and the fee could reach £35m with add-ons. Mané told Liverpool of his desire to leave soon after the Champions League final and made Bayern his preferred destination. Bids from the German club were turned down before a deal was reached on Friday. The Senegal international has been at Liverpool since 2016 and decided the time was right for a new experience. He had one year left on his contract.
