The ‘Hautest’ Looks At The Paris Haute Couture 2020 Fashion Week

Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week 2020 came to an end on January 23, but we can’t get over the looks that graced the runway. Reality took a backseat as dreamy, exquisitely crafted gowns, opulent set designs, wearable art and more took centre stage.

Jean-Paul Gaultier marked his retirement after a 50-year career by showcasing nearly over 200 looks in a spectacular final catwalk show at Paris haute couture fashion week 2020. The dramatic show was staged inside Paris’ Théâtre du Châtelet with Paris Jackson making her runway debut.

Givenchy, on the other hand, showed us what it’s like to steal the show at your own wedding and become the talk of the town for months on end. The creative director, Clare Waight Keller, sent out Kaia Gerber to close the show in a floor-length lace gown and an elaborately designed sculptural veil.

Schiaparelli’s SS20 show was a total dreamscape, Giorgio Armani Prive opted for a dark romance vibe, Dior was all princessy, Iris Van Herpen toed the line of wearable art, Imane Ayissi became the first Sub-Saharan African designer to show at Paris Haute Couture Week and more. The 51-year-old Cameroonian designer created a sophisticated collection using organic cotton, also transforming tree bark into decorative flowers.
