ake it a major date to turn on all notifications of your choicest celebrities this fashion season, or miss out on distinguished style moments. Fashion month has been an eventful one so far, with persistently dashing looks springing from NYFW 2022, Emmy Awards, and countless movie premieres across our social planet. Last week, elevated street style gears were splattered across the Fashion Week streets, as award shows had celebs rendering haute couture ensembles as they would everyday wear.

The looks

A black dress, but make it ravishing. That was how the youngest two-time Emmy winner Zendaya pulled up for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards. The star “bodied” a black satin Maison Valentino number inspired by a Valentino 87/88 dress, but with modish finishing. Donned with Bulgari jewelry, Zendaya received her Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series award, looking like a billion bucks of talent.

Actress Issa Rae also came ready to slay. The star, who was nominated at the Emmys for Leading Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Insecure, stepped up to the occasion in a confidently tailored art deco ivory and onyx Sergio Hudson dress. The spaghetti strapped frock’s black geometric lines and keyhole center cutout aptly married her black-and-white French nails.

Over in Nigeria, the Ojuju Ball for the Brotherhood movie premiere hit the Nollywood red carpets with ostentatious ensembles that dared the limits of normalcy. Dark-themed attire splattered our timelines as celebrities presented themselves for the event. Talented Nigerian designer Mimi Yina stepped out for the event in her custom-made feather-detailed ensemble with a lush pleated bottom and topped it off with a metallic gold winged crown. A stunning representation of divinity.

Check out the winning looks from Emmy awards, and other events on stylish Black celebs from last week…
