On the 2nd of February, some of Britain’s biggest stars graced the red carpet at the Royal Festival Hall in London for the annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards – the BAFTAs 2020.
The 2020 BAFTAs remarkably had Joaquin Phoenix, who won the award for best leading actor for Joker, criticize the body for the lack of diversity among the nominated creators and performers this awards season, saying the issue could no longer be ignored.
The theme of last night’s red carpet, as mandated by the organizing group, was sustainability. As with every red carpet, celebrities stepped out in glamorous outfits and matching jewellery to walk the 2020 BAFTAs red carpet, and as expected, they put on a fabulous show.
With the theme in mind, a number of celebrities showed up in outfits they had worn before or had their outfits made from recyclable materials. Even though most of the celebrities didn’t get the memo, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton showed a good example as she attended the awards in a gown she previously wore in 2012.
