Cardi B has made her first red carpet-appearance at Paris Fashion Week since giving birth. The hip-hop star, who welcomed her second child earlier this month, attended the opening of the Thierry Mugler: Couturissime exhibition at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in the French capital. The 28-year-old wore a piece from the French fashion designer’s 1995 couture collection – a dramatic red-sequined dress, cape and a ring of crimson feathers framing her face.

A second shot showed her without the cape and showcased a pair of matching red, elbow-length gloves. She wrote: “Thank you @manfredthierrymugler for including me in such a historical night, the opening of your exhibit in Paris! Truly one of my favorite creative minds in the WORLD! I’m mind blown looking at your collections from over the years. A true Genius!”

South African comedian and host of “The Daily Show” Trevor Noah has dug into his pockets to give back to those in need. The star donated $500,000 to a local project on behalf of The Trevor Noah Foundation and in partnership with Youth Build South Africa (YBSA). This is a joint response to the pressing issues surrounding impoverished communities throughout the country.

With the quality of infrastructure being one issue of many, 56% of South African teachers have reported a shortage of physical infrastructure, hindering their ability to provide the necessary learning environment. YBSA mobilizes young adults between the ages of 17 and 29 who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) to improve their lives and communities.

4. Gunmen kill Chike Akunyili, late Dora Akunyili’s husband

Chike Akunyili, the husband of the late boss of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Dora Akunyili, was murdered by gunmen in Anambra on Tuesday. Reports on Wednesday said he was shot dead while returning to Enugu from an event to honor his late wife. His son, Obumneme Akunyili, confirmed the incident to the media on Tuesday. Residents of the South-east told the press that the medical doctor was killed by gunmen suspected to be members of the separatist Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The militant group has vowed that the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State will not hold and has been blamed for a series of attacks on politicians and their supporters campaigning for the election. The armed group, which has been accused of attacks on police stations and other security agencies in the region, is also using violent means to enforce a sit-at-home order, which it has decreed for every Monday in the five Southeast states.

5. Simone Biles says she should have quit the Olympic team before Tokyo

Simone Biles is speaking about the Olympics and why she feels she should have stepped away. The 24-year-old told The Cut’s Camonghne Felix, “If you looked at everything I’ve gone through for the past seven years, I should have never made another Olympic team.”

Biles continued, “I should have quit way before Tokyo, when Larry Nassar was in the media for two years. It was too much. But I was not going to let him take something I’ve worked for since I was 6 years old. I wasn’t going to let him take that joy away from me. So I pushed past that for as long as my mind and my body would let me.”

In 2018, Biles spoke out publicly about the sexual abuse she suffered by former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar, which she says directly and negatively affected her mental health at the Tokyo Olympics this summer. On September 15, she joined other members of Team USA Gymnastics in speaking before the Senate Judiciary Committee over what they said was the FBI’s failed investigation into Nassar’s actions.
