On Thursday, February 6, 2020, ESSENCE, the black-centric American magazine celebrated the black women who have made their marks in TV and film. The 13th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Award Luncheon took place at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
Like all things Hollywood, the annual event is also an opportunity for our favourite actresses to hit the carpet in beautiful outfits, making us wish we all got an invitation. Someone who did get an invitation to the 2020 ESSENCE luncheon is Nigeria’s very own Genevieve Nnaji.
The superstar actor and film director looked absolutely stunning in her outfit to the event and we have to confess it’s one of her best looks to date.
Genevieve Nnaji was spotted wearing a long sleeve, botanical printed mini dress as styled by Gabriel Langenbrunner. The beautiful dress totally suits her recent natural-inclined aura. The FARM Rio dress comes with a ruffled high neck and lateral ruffles running down its sleeves and cuffs. She complemented the look with a pair of white Vince Camuto pumps which brought balance to the very busy print of the dress.
For jewellery, she went with a pair of small multi-coloured floral earrings by Kukka Jewelry matching the dress print, further accessorising with a trendy ZAC Zac Posen black bucket bag. She wore her hair, styled by Ken Rich, in a sleek, twisted faux-hawk and kept her makeup, done by Tai Young, colourful and chic.
This is a look Genevieve Nnaji hasn’t exactly tried out before and if there’s anything we can deduce from it, it’s the idea that Genevieve is redefining her style and willing to be more adventurous with her look this 2020.
