Gunna Named Creative Director of Under Armour’s New P-Star Label

Gunna is taking his relationship with Under Armour into a new creative chapter. The rapper has been named creative director of P-Star, a new lifestyle label developed with the sportswear giant, giving him a larger role in shaping a brand that sits at the intersection of music, fashion, and performance.

The appointment builds on Gunna’s growing presence outside music. He has already established himself as a style figure and previously launched P by Gunna in 2024. That collection, created with boohooMAN, featured 92 pieces spanning cropped graphic tees, boxy jackets, jerseys, knitwear, tracksuits, and oversized denim.

Gunna Takes P-Star Beyond P by Gunna

P-Star represents an evolution of the visual and creative language Gunna introduced through P by Gunna. The name is built around a “P” and star motif, a symbol associated with discipline, ambition, and high standards.

Rather than simply attaching Gunna’s name to another celebrity collaboration, the new position gives him a direct creative role. That distinction matters. It places the rapper closer to the decision-making process behind the brand’s identity, products, and storytelling.

Gunna’s fashion credentials have also continued to develop alongside his music career. His 2024 P by Gunna collection was positioned as an accessible, unisex lifestyle line inspired by his own wardrobe. The range moved between relaxed tailoring, athletic references, and streetwear proportions.

That experience gives P-Star a foundation that goes beyond a typical athlete-led capsule. Gunna is now moving from being the face of a fashion project to helping define its creative direction.

Why the Under Armour Partnership Makes Sense

The move also strengthens the relationship between Gunna and Under Armour. The rapper is already featured in the brand’s official Gunna edit, which includes performance and lifestyle pieces selected to match his style.

Under Armour has increasingly looked toward music and fashion to broaden its cultural reach. In May, the brand featured Gunna alongside country star Parker McCollum in a campaign for its Bouncy Tee. McCollum was introduced as an official Under Armour ambassador, while Gunna appeared in the campaign.

The strategy indicates a wider shift in sportswear. Performance brands are no longer competing only through technical innovation. They are also competing for cultural standing.

Under Armour’s recent collaboration with Los Angeles menswear label 424 at Paris Fashion Week further illustrates that direction. The partnership brought the brand into a luxury fashion environment, with Gunna attending the presentation as an Under Armour global ambassador.

P-Star, therefore, arrives at an interesting moment. For Gunna, it extends a fashion identity he has been building for several years. Under Armour offers another route into the lifestyle market through an artist whose influence spans music, streetwear, and contemporary culture.

The next step will be seeing how much of Gunna’s personal aesthetic makes its way into P-Star. If his earlier work is any indication, the label is unlikely to treat sportswear as strictly performance gear.
