1. Regina Daniels welcomes baby boy with hubby Ned Nwoko
Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels has welcomed a baby boy with her husband, Ned Nwoko. The news of the arrival of Regina Daniels’ baby boy was shared on Instagram on Monday, June 29, 2020, by the movie star’s brother.
“Officially an uncle you know? Congratulations my diamond. It’s a bouncing baby boy. Iyanu ti sele @regina.daniels @regina.daniels Gods the greatest ” he wrote.

2. 83 per cent of critically ill patients recover from COVID-19
44 out of the 53 persons who were infected with COVID-19 and were critically ill in Ghana have fully recovered.
The figure, according to President Nana Akufo-Addo, indicates that 83 per cent of infected persons, at the various Intensive Care Units (ICU) across health facilities in the country, have been discharged.
3. South Africa: Gauteng government considering a harder lockdown
Gauteng’s MEC for Health, Bandile Masuku, has revealed that his department is weighing-up the possibility of the province moving back to a harder form of lockdown after COVID-19 cases skyrocketed in the past week.
Almost 37,000 people have been infected in Gauteng so far, with over 10,000 new patients being registered in the last few days. The rate of transmission has boomed, putting authorities on high alert.
4. US top court strikes down a law limiting abortions
The US Supreme Court has ruled that a law restricting abortions in Louisiana is unconstitutional in a landmark decision. The law required that doctors providing abortions have admitting privileges to nearby hospitals, which the justices said led to an undue burden on women.
Chief Justice John Roberts joined liberal justices in the 5-4 decision in a blow to anti-abortion groups. The court struck down a similar policy in Texas in 2016, the opinion noted.
This is the first major abortion case ruling from the Supreme Court during the Trump presidency.
5. Manchester United to face Chelsea in FA Cup semi-finals
Manchester United will face Chelsea and Arsenal will play holders Manchester City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup. The draw features three of the Cup’s four most successful sides, with Arsenal the record 13-time winners.
United, who beat Norwich to reach the last four, have won it 12 times, while Chelsea, who edged past Leicester in the quarter-finals, have eight wins. Both ties will be played at Wembley on the weekend of July 18 and 19. The final is scheduled for Saturday, August 1 at the same venue.
