Nicki Minaj has given birth to her first child with husband Kenneth Petty. According to media sources, Nicki Minaj gave birth to her baby on Wednesday, September 30, in a Los Angeles hospital. The baby’s name and sex are yet to be revealed, with neither Petty nor Minaj having confirmed the news themselves.

Minaj first announced she was pregnant in July, sharing a photo of her baby bump to social media. “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes. ?,” she captioned the post.

2. Mali’s military junta set the stage for lifting of ECOWAS sanctions

Mali’s junta has removed a major obstacle to the lifting of ECOWAS sanctions. On Thursday it took out a major prerogative devolved to their transition leader who is supposed to bring civilians back to power in the country.

The soldiers who overthrew President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta on August 18 have renounced that Colonel Assimi Goïta, can replace the civilian president in the transition. The junta here accedes to a primordial demand of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to lift the sanctions imposed on Mali on August 20, foremost among which is a commercial and financial embargo.

3. Donald Trump and Melania Trump both test positive for COVID-19

Donald and Melania Trump have tested positive for COVID-19, the president said in a tweet late Thursday. “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately,” Trump tweeted. The First Lady in her own tweet said: “We are feeling good and I have postponed all upcoming engagements.”

Earlier in the evening, the president revealed he and the first lady had entered quarantine after learning that top White House aide Hope Hicks tested positive for the virus. White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said in a memorandum late Thursday that the president and first lady were “both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.”

The doctor continued, “Rest assured I expect the president to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any further developments.”

4. South Africa: Sho Madjozi and Thuso Mbedu among nominees for E! People’s Choice Awards

The nominees for the African Social Star of 2020 category at the upcoming E! People’s Choice Awards, have been announced. Social media star and model, Karl Kugelmann; rapper, actress and poet, Sho Madjozi; international Emmy Award-nominee and actress, Thuso Mbedu; magician and TikTok star, Wian van den Berg, and reigning Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, are the South African nominees.

Also in the running is Nigerian YouTube sensation, Dimma Umeh; Kenyan comedian and internet star, Elsa Majimbo, and Ghana’s African Movie Academy Award-winning actress, Lydia Forson.

5. Teenager Ansu Fati joins Barcelona’s historic hall of fame as the youngest to score 10 La Liga goals

Ansu Fati became only the second 17-year-old to reach 10 La Liga goals for Barcelona as they beat Celta Vigo. Fati opened the scoring with a clever first touch and finish after being picked out by Philippe Coutinho, his third goal in two games this season.

Bojan is the only other player to reach double figures in league goals for Barca before his 18th birthday. Spain international Fati’s 10 goals have come in 26 league games. Messi took 30 matches to reach that figure.

Fati has scored three of Barca’s seven league goals this season, having netted twice in the 4-0 opening-day win over Villarreal. They have benefited from two own goals, with Messi and Roberto their other scorers.
