NACK Draws A Line Between Being Youthful And Maintaining Culture On Day 1 Of Lagos Fashion Week | #HLFW18
A passionate writer, self proclaimed chef and lover of music…
With the fast pace of fashion these days and the huge market size, it’s little wonder why there are so many emerging fashion brands. However, not all of them can meet up with the standards of the ever-growing industry and NACK is definitely not a part of this list.
N.A.C.K being an acronym for Nigerian Articulate Culture Kullection is a casual fashion brand that articulates the evolving lifestyle of a new breed of people. The brand has managed to prove that they identify with personality and culture as this is very evident in their latest collection.
Inspired by the beauty around, the excitement around the collection could be seen as each model walked past other models who stood still like mannequins wrapped in African print holding a mortar and pestle. There was a message to be gotten here: “One Nigeria.”
Aside from the very obvious note of peace, the collection as a whole was filled with sporty ready-to-wear pieces that set the runway on fire – all thanks to the vibrant, bold colours and contrasting silhouettes. One thing that was obvious is the fact that the designer had a clear direction for the collection and that was to showcase what “casual style” means in Africa, especially Nigeria as evident in the choice of fabric and the pattern of the pieces.
Here’s a look at select pieces from the collection…
