ay 2 of the Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week had a different twist and was more exciting than day 1. It came with a bigger crowd and more exciting showcases by designers. I was enthralled by so many pieces from the runway shows. I particularly loved how the designers really upped their games this year with their designs.

Here are my top 6 Designers from Day 2 shows…

Elie Kuame

It featured a lot of loose-fitting clothing and a variety of colours. This was one of the strongest collection from day 2. I loved everything about the collection; from the tailoring to drapings, to the clean cuts.

Grey

No doubt, Grey is one brand that always manages to redefine the idea of wardrobe basics. The collection featured modern traditional wears with slim fitting, hats, trench coat dresses and more. Grey won my heart with their collection.

Gozel Green

Gozel Green stays winning with its designs and this year’s showcase was a total winner. It was an excellent showcase as creative directors, Silva Enekwe and Olivia Jude-Okoji did not deviate from their signature trademark. The collection featured a lot of bold contrasting colours, cut-outs, soft silhouettes and more.

Loza Maléhombo

This is one brand that always curates very artsy and detailed pieces. This year was no different as every piece from the collection was simply stunning.

Davido X Orange Culture

This is perhaps the biggest collaboration in fashion industry. A huge milestone for the Nigerian fashion industry as it has opened up an international market. The collection featured a lot of urban pieces which include sweatshirts, pants and more with the “IF” motif on the pieces.

P.O.C

In terms of growth, P.O.C is one brand that keeps getting better each year. Papa Omisore, creative director of the brand continues to redefine the norm for the stylish African man with his unconventional pieces and this year his pieces were absolutely refreshing.

Did you keep up with day two show? What were your major highlights?
