1. Keke Palmer’s boyfriend faces backlash for publicly shaming singer

Darius Jackson, the boyfriend of Keke Palmer, ignited a firestorm on social media on Wednesday night when he tweeted about the outfit Palmer wore to Usher’s Las Vegas residency show. “It’s the outfit tho… you a mom,” Jackson wrote on Wednesday—quote tweeting a viral video of the 29-year-old star being serenaded by Usher. Palmer was dressed in a sheer black dress over a matching thong bodysuit. The tweet was initially met with bewilderment, amusement, and disdain as social media users tried to determine if Jackson’s comments were real or a joke.

But Jackson later doubled down with another tweet. “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.” The tweet has since been deleted, and Jackson’s Twitter and Instagram accounts have been disabled.

2. Tiwa Savage set to be the first female Afrobeats artiste to headline Wembley Arena

Tiwa Savage is set to become the first female Afrobeats artiste to headline the 13,000 Wembley Arena in the UK. While appearing on “The Good Morning Britain Show,” Savage spoke about her journey to superstardom, the influence of her Nigerian roots on her music, performing at King Charles’ coronation, and her upcoming show in the UK. When asked about the rise of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage stated that black music, including hip-hop and Soul, started from the slaves taken from Africa so Afrobeats’ international fame is a full circle as it’s the root.

Tiwa Savage was born in Nigeria where she grew up until she left at the age of 11 for her secondary and university education in the UK. According to the singer, her Nigerian roots are imprinted in her music and she always blends English with Yoruba to showcase her dual influences. The Queen of Afrobeats also shared that she felt honored and delighted to have performed at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III, making her the first Nigerian artiste to grace such a stage. The award-winning singer is set to headline the Wembley OVO Arena on November 26, in a historic performance she promises would be unforgettable.

3. South Africa: Drake adds Kabza De Small as a producer on his latest tour

It looks like DJ and producer Kabza De Small will have the last laugh over people who recently claimed his career was stagnant. The producer and DJ became the talk of the town when international superstar Drake announced him as one of the producers of his “It’s All A Blur Tour” on Thursday. Drake made the announcement on his Instagram Stories and tagged Kabza, real name Kabelo Motha, and two other producers as the tour producers. “Show is executively produced by @Ovo40 and @bnyx with additional production by @KabeloMotha”

Not too long ago Kabza topped the South African Twitter trends list after a tweep said he and his management were “sleeping on his superstardom” because they were not capitalizing on the international market. Drake’s IG post shattered that narrative, showing Kabza and his team have been hard at work behind the scenes.

4. Paramount drops new trailer for Bob Marley biopic ‘One Love’

Paramount has released its first look at the upcoming “Bob Marley: One Love” biopic starring Kingsley Ben-Adir as the late legendary reggae artiste and activist. The movie also stars “The Woman King’s” Lashana Lynch as Marley’s wife and singer, Rita Marley. The film was directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who was behind projects such as “King Richard” and “Monsters and Men” and produced by Marley’s son, Ziggy Marley, daughter Cedella, and Rita. It will follow the journey of the “Three Little Birds” singer leading up to 1978’s One Love Peace Concert amidst a violent political crisis in Jamaica. Zach Baylin, Frank E. Flowers, and Terence Winter wrote the screenplay.

Green and Ziggu placed great importance on keeping the story of Marley as authentic as possible, according to reports. “It was exciting and emotional. I was very focused on making sure that we represented him right, and being given that responsibility to help Reinaldo was a very serious thing for me,” Ziggy said. “Bob Marley: One Love” is set to hit theaters on Jan. 12, 2024.

5. PSG slap €200m price tag on Kylian Mbappe

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly set a €200 million price tag on Kylian Mbappe after telling the striker he must either sign an extension or leave. PSG are desperate to avoid losing the France captain on a free transfer in 2024 and have told Mbappe he has until the end of the month to trigger the one-year extension on his current contract. According to reports, the Parisians will demand €200m (£171m/$217m) as a transfer fee if he refuses to extend.

On the other hand, Mbappe is neither willing to give up on the assured payments that he is set to receive from PSG if he continues in the French capital until 2024, nor ready to sign the extension. Real Madrid, the primary suitor, may face financial constraints in meeting PSG’s valuation as they have already signed Jude Bellingham for €103m (£88m/$110m) from Borussia Dortmund. However, Los Blancos remain committed to signing the France international this summer and might meet the demands of the Ligue 1 champions. Keke Palmer Boyfriend
