Every year on the 1st of October, Nigeria celebrates her Independence, a day significant to the history of Nigerians. Every Independence day celebration comes with quite a number of photo releases to mark the special day. This year was not an exception.
Photographers, fashion stylists, hair stylists, models, fashion designers and every other creative in the Nigerian creative industry often come together to create beautiful images and videos to celebrate the occasion.
As a regular tradition, style star and business woman Oyin Adenuga otherwise known as Emelia Jane, goes all out to have an Independence day themed shoot every year. To celebrate Nigeria’s 59th Independence Day, Emelia Jane opted for an all-green look. Her fashion taste and palette is always a refreshing inspiration to feed our eyes with and this one is definitely a look that will inspire any elegant style lover.
Emelia Jane enlisted the help of celebrity fashion designer, Sheye Oladejo to turn a beautiful Vlisco floral print Ankara fabric into a nicely crafted and lengthy corset dress which symbolizes independence. The corset dress had dark green embroidered stripes around it to accentuate the oil and gas executive’s silhouette and to also give the dress a timeless touch, which everyone knows only Emelia Jane Adenuga can pull off with great aura, finesse and appeal.
To complement the beautiful flowery dress, she wore a pair of emerald green Manolo Blahnik shoes and sea foam green gele, both in colors from the green family which symbolizes the fertility of Nigeria.
For blings, she kept thing simple with a pair of crystal encrusted gold statement earrings from Lush Jewels and her wedding rings. A well-defined green glitter eye shadow and red lips makeup by Doyin Adufe came together to seal the sophisticated traditional independence look.
