South African Tourism has announced holidaymakers traveling to the country’s COVID-19 hotspot areas can expect graded accommodation establishments to capture their details digitally to assist with tracking and tracing of positive cases through its Automated Data Capturing Solution (ACDS). South African Tourism CEO Sisa Ntshona said establishments will register guests using a QR code, adding the intervention was being funded by its business unit, the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.

The President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will be sworn into office within the precincts of Parliament House before Parliament on January 7, 2021, and not at the usual venue for presidential inaugurations — the Independence Square. The move is in accordance with Article 57(3) of the 1992 Constitution and “international best practices.”

The venue change is also in response to a request made to the President by the leadership of Parliament in November this year that all subsequent swearing of Presidents into office be done in Parliament, in accordance with the law.

Paris Saint-Germain have sacked German manager Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel took over the Ligue 1 side in June 2018, winning two league titles, the French Cup and French League Cup. They also reached the Champions League final for the first time last season, losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich. PSG are currently third in Ligue 1, a point behind leaders Lyon, while they are also through to the last 16 of the Champions League, where they will face Barcelona.

Tuchel’s sacking came hours after the 47-year-old took charge of Wednesday’s 4-0 home win against Strasbourg. The victory moved the reigning champions within a point of both Lyon and second-placed Lille as the Ligue 1 season heads into a two-week winter break. Former Borussia Dortmund coach Tuchel’s contract was set to expire at the end of this season.
