If you have had a busy or stressful week, all you are thinking about right about now is how to relax and get your groove on before a new week arrives. What better way to do that than by listening to the latest banging Nigerian songs like ‘Mad O’ by DJ Xclusive amongst others.

Besides DJ Xclusive getting caught by the “Mad O” bug, Yemi Alade, on the other hand, was having a filled day as she featured Beninese-American actor and model Djimon Gaston Hounsou in her latest video titled Remind You. Burna

For this weekend, we have compiled the latest and hottest trending Nigerian songs to help you have fun all weekend long.

Here are 5 of the trending new songs for the weekend…

1. Yemi Alade – Remind You

Start off your weekend by letting Yemi Alade Remind You that she is still the queen and owns her music. The sultry RnB stars Hollywood celebrity Djimon Hounsou who appears to be Yemi’s crush.

The video sees the singer gallivanting in an empty mansion while talking to her lover only for things to take a funny and unexpected turn as it was all a dream and she was the maid to the supposed lover.

2. DJ Xclusive – Mad O

Capitalising on the popular street slang that was coined by Naira Marley, which went viral on social media, DJ Xlcusive comes with another single titled Mad O.

This groovy tune visits the insane things that happen in life. Just like using a spoon to drink juice, putting your picture in someone else’s sitting room, ten girls using one wig, people borrowing cars to pose and more. In as much as I hated the way the slang was overused on social media, I couldn’t help but nod away to this single.

3. Burna Boy ft. Jeremih, Serani – Secret

Coming off of his recently released album African Giant, Burna Boy has released the video for Secret which features foreign artists Jeremih and Serani.

The video which was shot by David Camerana is set in an old vintage house with neon-soaked lights, generally depicting their “secret”.

4. Ladipoe – Tailor Made

Mavins wordsmith LadiPoe returns with a new record titled Tailor Made. According to him, he is a victim of intelligence and with the bars he spits all the time, we can’t help but agree with him on this.

One thing is for sure, he keeps delivering and setting the standards. Seeing as he keeps building blocks in his brain, we can’t help but look forward to what he has up his sleeves next.

5. TroyBoi ft. Adekunle Gold – Tranquilizer

Nigerian South East Londoner TroyBoi teamed up with Adekunle Gold to bring fire to our ears! Truly, everything Adekunle touches turns into Gold.

Tranquilizer as the single is titled is one song that is perfect for slow grinding on the dance floor. Seductive dance moves and stunning scenery push the whole mood over the edge as TroyBoi acknowledges that he wanted to fully embrace his Nigerian heritage for inspiration with the actualisation of this music video.
