The 42nd annual Toronto International Film Festival is currently being held from 7 to 17 September 2017 and has ‘The Royal Hibiscus Hotel‘, an EbonyLife Films production as the only Nigerian movie that screened at TIFF this year.
The movie directed by Ishaya Bako and executive produced by Mo Abudu, features Zainab Balogun as an aspiring restaurateur who returns to her home in Lagos to try and refine the fare at her family’s little hotel, only to find that her parents, Jide Kosoko and Rachel Oniga, are planning on selling out to a rich and devilishly attractive buyer Kenneth Okolie.
The movie which is the second EbonyLife film to have its world premiere at TIFF was sold out and saw the cast and crew of ‘The Royal Hibiscus Hotel‘ take Toronto’s iconic Festival Street by storm with all the stars bringing their pomp and pageantry to one of the world’s most famous Film Festivals.
