T

he prestigious Cannes Film Festival kicked off last week and the stars converged for another round of heavy-hitting glam. As if their recent red carpet appearances weren’t drool-worthy enough, Black women descended on the south of France flaunting sensational hair and makeup takes that have set the tone for summer beauty goals. No doubt, this year’s Cannes Film Festival glam has been delightful in every way.

It wouldn’t be our best beauty looks round-up if we only showed one side of the fun. Over in Nigeria and South Africa, wedding celebrations and product launches further added to our glam barometer. These women came correct serving enough beauty looks that our voracious appetite was almost maxed out. Thankfully, it wasn’t. We still had good reason to scout the entire plant in search of the best glam looks on Black women for your viewing pleasure.

The Looks

Makeup

There’s no denying the beauty of melanin and our sistas cease every occasion to bring it to the fore. During the opening night of Festival de Cannes, actress Sheila Atim made a case for her midnight skin. That is to say, the star opted for subtle makeup that allowed her melanin to steal the show amidst the flashing lights. While the entire look stayed soft, a pop of orange, that perfectly matched her outfit, graced the inner corners of her eyes. Certainly, her Cannes Film Festival glam is a look we can’t shake off in a hurry. Plus, let’s not forget her Chopard earrings that added to the spark in her eyes.

Meanwhile, in South Africa, Mihlali Ndamase was a fairytale princess for the launch of Disney Plus in the southern African country. The star played with tones of pink to an outstanding effect. Between her shimmering pink eyeshadow, rosy blush, and nude lips, the entire look came together quite nicely. And her glistering tiara lent to the vibe of the moment. After all, what’s Disney without those princess-y tiaras?

Hair

Sometimes, good ol’ locs are all you need to up your hair game, especially when it’s styled properly. Halle Bailey made a case for this last week in a two-tone option that very well flattered her face while accentuating her features.
