Check out Netflix shows to watch as we await Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2…

#1. The Empress (2022)

Without drama and scheming, is any show worth indulging? Today’s sixteen-year-old ladies are heading into college, but this era sees the young lasses scheming their way for a lovely match, hoping to start a home. Young Bavarian Duchess, Elisabeth “Sisi” von Wittelsbach, marries Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria, and reality sets in. The butterflies in her stomach are replaced by contention from her in-laws. The Emperor has his clothes cut out from him, as his brother continues to ruffle feathers unprovoked.

#2. The Cook of Castamar (2021)

Adapting the novel of the same name by Fernando J. Muñez, this Spanish drama tells the tale of a talented cook with anxiety. She uncovers a royal secret, and soon her love story uncovers. When you find love in the strangest places, especially in an era where the social stratum is well defined and needless to say, barricaded, is happily ever after a possibility?

#3. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023)

This spin-off takes us deeper into the life of Queen Charlotte. Once you watch her story, an empathetic emotion is bound to well up–one that superimposes itself above her fastidious personality. This is the story of young Queen Charlotte, played by India Amarteifio, who fell in love with the all-too-handsome King George (Corey Mylchreest). Watch this Netflix show for a spicy revelation of Queen Charlotte’s love match and a journey through her human side.

#4. Mr. Malcolm’s List (2022)

We all have a list of what we want in a partner, but honorable Jeremy Malcolm’s list is at best a self-imposed wall of impossibility no maiden has been able to cross. He soon becomes quite the topic and catch, parading himself with pride until a setup breaks those walls and exposes his vulnerability. After rejecting the confident Julia Thistlewaite and making her a laughingstock in society, she arranges for a payback. Now, Mr. Malcolm has fallen in love with her friend Selina Dalton and has to choose between his ego and love.

#5. Outlander (2014)

We can’t wait to see what Bridgerton Season 3 Part 2 is brewing, but we hope it surpasses the Duke of Hastings and Daphne’s steamy romance. This is the story of a nurse who time-traveled to the 1700s and found love. But with danger surrounding her matters of the heart, she and her love have to hold it down. Would they succeed?

#6. The Crown (2016)

This award-winning historical series is centered on the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s. Upon the death of her father, King George VI, her life will never remain the same. At age 25, she ascends the throne and dutifully carries out her responsibilities. This series captures the political disparities as well as the sizzling romance that surrounds her life.

#7. Persuasion (2022)

Based on Jane Austen’s 1817 novel of the same name. In this must-watch Netflix show, Frederick Wentworth–the one who got away–crashes back into Anne Elliot’s life (Dakota Johnson). Now she must choose between putting the past behind her or listening to her heart when it comes to second chances.

#8. Ehrengard: The Art Of Seduction (2023)

After watching Colin and Penelope’s carriage scene, learning a few tricks on seduction may become of interest. This Netflix show is one to watch to get you started. It’s a wonderful blend of humor and romance and is based on the 1963 novel Ehrengard by Isak Dinesen. Charged with teaching a shy prince the art of seduction, Cazotte, an expert on love, finds himself at the heart of a scandal at the royal court, but also of an unexpected and surprising romance.

#9. The Law According To Lidia Poët

Lady Whistedown might have been a talented and witty writer, but as a woman in that era, she took one for the ladies to come after her. Pen and Lidia Poët chose to unrelentingly chase their passion. Lidia Poët becomes the first female lawyer in this period drama but is disbarred not because of her inadequacies, but because of her gender. Notwithstanding, she continues to blaze her trail and solve crimes while at it. Unstoppable and tenacious, but with a sprinkle of steam.

#10. Cable Girls (2017)

In 1920s Madrid, four women working in the first telecommunications company experienced a taste of independence and self-evolving. Ana Fernández, Nadia de Santiago, Blanca Suárez, and Maggie Civantos, who star as these four liberated ladies, depict the hard times for working women in Spain. All four had different reasons for entering the workforce, but their lives tell a story of how far women have come in this journey of gender equality.
