Another Friday is here, which means it’s time to update our playlists with new Afrobeat songs. With the arrival of the deluxe version of her debut album, 19 and Dangerous, Ayra Starr teamed up with fellow rising star, Lojay, to give us a beautiful duet titled Running.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian stars are not left out as DJ Vyrusk, KiDi and Camidoh gave us a triple treat in a groovy track titled Body 2 Body. Consequently, we’ve compiled the top five trending new hits released this week to kick-start your weekend groove.

#1. Ayra Starr ft. Lojay – Running
Mavin Records lead lady, Ayra Starr and independent artist Lojay seem to enjoy collaborating. The two artists have joined forces on a new song titled Running following the success of their last collaborative single, Runaway. This new release, which is one of the new songs on Ayra Starr’s newly released 19 and Dangerous deluxe album, sees both artists showing off their vocal prowess as they sing about ending a relationship.
#2. Young Jonn – If You Leave
It looks like Young Jonn is enjoying his newly replenished fame. With his last song, Xtra Cool, still making waves as the number one song across Nigeria, the singer-producer has released his second EP titled Love is Not Enough Vol. 2. In this body of work is the fast-tempo song If You Leave, which is a mix of afrobeats and amapiano, a fusion Nigerian artists seem to be doing well at these days. In this new title, Young Jonn details what would happen if the love of his life leaves him. A sure bop if you ask us.
#3. Teni – Trouble
Teni joins the growing list of Nigerian artists to perform on the international music platform A Colors Show. Showing the global audience her talent, she delivers a melodious new single with relatable lyrics titled Trouble. Produced by talented beatmaker, Onaduja Yinka Reuben, Trouble serves as Teni’s fifth offering for 2022.
#4. Reekado Banks – Jeun To Da
Prolific Nigerian singer, Reekado Banks has a new single titled Jeun To Da (JTD) which translates to “eat what’s good.” The new Afrobeat-inspired song is another tremendous tune from the brilliant singer. In the beautifully written and produced track, he advises listeners to “chop” life and enjoy it while they can. This serves as his first official single of this year following the success of Ozumba Mbadiwe.
#5. DJ Vyrusky ft. KiDi and Camidoh – Body 2 Body
Ghanaian disc jockey and music producer DJ Vyrusky is out with a new song titled Body 2 Body. On this new jam, he enlists the vocal assistance of two of Ghana’s most prolific entertainers at the moment; KiDi and Camidoh. The Afropop song comes along with a colorful video that represents the best of Ghana’s musical talents.
