A$AP Rocky Brings “Don’t Be Dumb” to Manchester City With PUMA Jersey Drop

A$AP Rocky and PUMA have brought Manchester City into the world of “Don’t Be Dumb,” the rapper’s 2026 album, with a limited-edition jersey collection dropping exclusively in Manchester this weekend. The timing is not incidental; Rocky performs at Co-op Live arena in Manchester on September 5, and the collection lands in the city before he takes the stage. The drop is Manchester-exclusive and first-come, first-served across a series of windows that begin Friday evening at a Northern Quarter activation and continue Saturday morning at the Man City Stadium Store ahead of City’s Premier League clash against Coventry.

Two separate pieces make up the collection, each speaking a different design language. The retail long-sleeve shirt runs in black and archive gold, with “DON’T BE DUMB” printed down the sleeve and a bold “MANCHESTER” graphic stretching across the back, placing the city itself as the visual centerpiece rather than the album or the artist. A players-only gift edition runs parallel, staying closer to City’s core identity: sky blue, subtle “D.B.D.” lettering on the sleeve, and a stop-sign graphic across the back reading “STOP SNITCHIN, MANCHESTER.” Fans can also add limited-edition “A$AP 11” name-and-number printing to their existing 26/27 Home, Away, or Third jersey while stocks last.

PUMA opens the collection on Friday, September 4 by transforming Black Milk in the Northern Quarter into the “Don’t Be Dumb” pop-up spot for one night, with doors opening at 4 p.m. The long-sleeved jersey goes on sale there first. The “A$AP 11” name and number printing becomes available the same evening at the event, at the official Man City Stadium Store, and at Arndale stores. A second run of the long sleeve then hits the Stadium Store on September 5 from 9:30 a.m. UK opening, giving fans who missed the Friday activation a second window before the City versus Coventry Premier League match.

The Northern Quarter activation as the launch point is a considered choice. Black Milk is a well-known Manchester institution, and placing the first sale there, rather than at a stadium retail outlet, brings the collection into the city’s independent cultural geography as opposed to purely into the football infrastructure. The “Don’t Be Dumb” pop-up experience extends the album’s visual world into a physical space for one night, creating a genuine brand activation rather than simply a pop-up retail event.

The Creative Logic Behind the Collaboration

“PUMA’s got deep roots with Manchester City, and I wanted to bring my own perspective,” Rocky said in the announcement. “We created something that feels true to my design language, and the Don’t Be Dumb ethos, while still honouring the club’s legacy.” Dominique Gathier, PUMA VP Teamsport, described the project as an extension of the brand’s broader ambitions. “A$AP Rocky brings a creative energy to everything he touches, and this collection is a natural extension of what our partnership stands for: taking football into spaces it does not normally occupy and doing it with a level of craft and intention that feels right for both the clubs and for him.”

The collection is the most direct expression yet of what Rocky and PUMA have been building together. The PUMA Suede 94 collaboration earlier this year established the creative partnership in a commercial capacity. The Manchester City jersey takes that partnership into football, where PUMA’s existing relationship with the club provides the infrastructure and Rocky’s album world provides the visual language. The result sits at the intersection of sportswear, music, and city identity in a way that neither PUMA nor Manchester City could have produced independently.

The ASAP Rocky and Manchester connection gives this collaboration a significance that goes beyond a limited-edition football shirt. Manchester is not simply the location for the release. It becomes part of the collection’s identity, linking Rocky’s music, PUMA’s football heritage, and Manchester City’s cultural influence into a single moment.

That connection is especially timely because Rocky is set to perform at Co-op Live on September 5. The collection arrives in the city just as anticipation around the performance builds, giving fans another way to engage with the world surrounding “Don’t Be Dumb.” Rather than launching the pieces globally, PUMA has kept the release firmly tied to Manchester.

The decision also creates a sense of scarcity. Fans have only a limited number of opportunities to purchase the pieces, beginning with the “Don’t Be Dumb” activation in the Northern Quarter on September 4. A second opportunity is available at the Man City Stadium store on September 5, before the club’s Premier League fixture against Coventry.

That rollout makes the city itself part of the experience. The Northern Quarter activation connects Rocky’s creative world with one of Manchester’s most recognizable cultural districts, while the Stadium Store brings the collaboration back into football territory.
