2019 Lagos Fashion Week: The Most Rave-worthy Designs From The Runway – Day 3

As the Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2019 continued on Day 3 at the Balmoral Convention Center, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, it soon became apparent that the designers were set on turning up the heat with their latest works of art.

As with Day 2, a number of celebrities also graced the Day 3 runway of Lagos Fashion Week. Idia Aisien, Bolanle Olukanni, Kaylah Oniwo and BBNaija Pepper Dem’s Venita Akpofure were among the celebs who strutted their stuff on the runway – the quad walking for Darling Nigeria.

Malian designer Meité Awa paid homage to fellow Malian, Malick Sidibé who was a Malian photographer noted for his black-and-white studies of popular culture in the 1960s in Bamako, using handmade cotton and sheer from Mali. Nigeria’s Andrea Iyamah as always, showcased a swimsuit and vacation-worthy collection that any woman would love.

Bridget Awosika focused on soft detailing while Cynthia Abila’s collection was a breath of fresh air as she took a break from the krukrubite fabric she’s known for, playing on volume and structure with soft, flowy fabrics.
