The 13-year-old began the session asking Michelle Obama for advice for teens “who want to be themselves and thrive like you have and currently are.” Michelle Obama told Zaya that your teens and 20s would be a “period of exploration.” The former First Lady said that she’s proud of Zaya for being an amazing role model and embracing her own truth.
2. Nigeria: Davido’s live performance of ‘Assurance’ on ‘Coming 2 America’ won hearts
The most anticipated movie of 2021, “Coming 2 America,” has arrived in Nigerian cinemas. If there is one reason many Nigerians have been looking forward to the continuation of this cross-continental love story, it is that Nigerian artistes are well represented in the soundtrack and one of Nigeria’s finest artiste, Davido is also in the movie.
The singer is seen at a party scene with top stars like Eddie Murphy entertaining the crowd with one of his hit records, ‘Assurance,’ released in 2019. When videos of the performance surfaced on the internet, it had fans worldwide commenting positively as the act captured hearts because of its romantic intonation.
3. South Africa: Enhle Mbali spoils herself with a Porsche for her 33rd birthday
It looks like the South African actress Enhle Mbali is ready for new beginnings after turning 33. Mbali shared an eight-minute video of herself on her special day with her fans on Instagram. From chopping off her hair by herself to reminding herself of the decisions made when she turned 30, fans got the low down on the new and improved Enhle Mbali.
This year, she decided to seal the deal with a new Porsche, which was delivered to her a week before her birthday. “I got myself a Porsche as a birthday present, it’s exciting, and a lot of people don’t know about it, only my close friends,” she said excitedly.
4. Four dead during protest over opposition leader‘s arrest in Senegal
On Friday, the Senegal government vowed to use “all means necessary” to return the order after police fired tear gas in clashes with supporters of opposition leader Ousmane Sonko. The interior minister later revealed that four people had died in the clash, followed after a court ruled that Sonko should be held in custody. This led to two days of protests with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urging all sides to avoid any further escalation of the violence.
Earlier in Dakar’s working-class district of Medina, hundreds of young people fought with the riot police on the streets as smoke rose from burning tires at makeshift barricades in the capital city. Protesters chanted “Free Sonko” on the streets as the protests took place.
5. Oscar targets ambitious Chelsea return four years later from £60m move to China
Former Chelsea star Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Júnior has stated his desire to return to Stamford Bridge four years after making a £60 million ($83m) move to Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG. The Brazilian forward enjoyed a productive spell at Chelsea before heading to Asia, making 203 appearances for the Blues as two Premier League title triumphs and Europa League glory was savored.
Oscar has enjoyed similar success in China, but at 29 years of age, he is already eyeing an opportunity to head back to England and see his playing days in west London. Oscar said: “I think about finishing at Chelsea because I had good times before at Chelsea.”
