Charlize Theron is back in action, leading her team of immortal warriors in the first trailer for Netflix’s highly anticipated The Old Guard 2. Picking up right where the adrenaline-fueled first film left off, the trailer introduces a new, formidable foe who seems both ancient and deeply personal. This forces Andromache Scythia, aka Andy (Theron), and her comrades to confront their long and bloody past.
At the heart of this epic showdown is Uma Thurman, who plays the mysterious new villain, Discord. Described as “the first of the immortals,” Discord has one goal: to destroy Andy and her team. With Andy now mortal and facing such a powerful adversary, the trailer teases a high-stakes confrontation between two fierce warriors—one fighting to protect, and the other to destroy.

Released in 2020, the original The Old Guard quickly became one of Netflix’s most-watched films. Within its first four weeks, the movie reached 72 million households, a testament to its broad appeal. Critically, it garnered an 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with praise directed at its intense action sequences and the standout performances of its cast, especially Charlize Theron. The film’s success was further solidified by its spot among the top 10 most popular Netflix originals at the time, cementing its place as a fan favorite.
