The 10 Most Searched Nigerian Songs According To Google

In terms of quality, growth and worldview visibility, there’s no arguing that 2019 was a pretty great year for Nigerian music — all thanks to the likes of Wizkid, Davido and Teni. As the year came to an end, Google released their list of the top 10 most searched Nigerian songs of 2019 – and every single one of them is a JAM!

Olamide, or Baddosneh – as he’s known on the streets, dominated the Google list of the most searched Nigerian songs in 2019, claiming three spots with Woske and Pawon taking fourth and fifth respectively and Oil and Gas taking eighth.

Wizkid, Davido and Teni came in at a close second, claiming two spots each — with Wizkid’s Joro taking the number one spot and being the song of the year just like he did in 2018 with Fever. The African Giant Burna Boy also made the list with Dangote taking the second spot.

Unlike the past three years, there was no absence of women on the list, especially with powerhouses like Yemi Alade, Simi, Seyi Shay and Tiwa Savage all dropping veritable bangers those years. For 2019 Teni snatched two spots for the ladies’ team. Not only did Teni make the list of Google’s most searched Nigerian songs in 2019, she made the list of the most searched people in Nigeria which was topped by Naira Marley and also the most searched musicians in Nigeria, a list on which she was fourth, sharing it with fellow new artistes like Fireboy, Rema and Zlatan.
