Talk show host Tamron Hall, is an Emmy-winning, American broadcast journalist, and executive producer who quit NBC news and started her self-titled award-winning syndicated daytime talk show.
Tamron Hall, a mother of one who is married to the American music executive, film producer, and businessman, Steven Greener is remarkable for her pixie haircut. The 51-year-old has an estimated net worth of about $5 Million and is respected for her hard work and commitment to her craft. Today, she has become a household name by rising up the ranks in television news.
Just like her father who was the first Black anchor for a Dallas television station, Tamron Hall also made history in 2014 when she became the first Black woman to co-anchor the Today show. In February 2017, after her contract with NBC expired, Tamron decided not to renew while also leaving Today and what some would have considered as a setback, she used the change as a chance to propel forward. In an interview with People magazine, Tamron said “that loss set me up for, yes, a dream job but also my baby, my husband, my family. I just couldn’t see it coming.”
Prior to joining MSNBC in July 2007, Tamron Hall had spent 10 years at WFLD in Chicago, where she held a number of positions including general assignment reporter, consumer reporter, and host of the three-hour Fox News in the Morning program. She also anchored the weekday mornings and served as a noon anchor.
Not only has she been a journalist, but she is also involved with several charitable organizations that strive to end homelessness and illiteracy, as well as others that fight domestic abuse. She has been recognized by Day One, a New York-based advocacy group for victims of domestic violence, for her work and support of their efforts. She also launched The Tamron Renate Fund with Safe Horizon in honor of her sister to help victims and families affected by domestic violence.
On August 8, 2018, Tamron Hall entered into an agreement with DADT to produce her show. The show was picked up by ABC Owned Television Stations in late September 2018 and gradually expanded its clearance over the next few months, with more station groups, including Hearst Television, later picking up the show. After having received coverage in 85% of the United States and 47 of the country’s top 50 television markets, DADT announced on March 4, 2019, that the show would premiere on September 9, 2019.
In June 2020, Tamron Hall was honored with three Daytime Emmy nominations by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, with Tamron’s hosting win marking the first time since the award’s inception in 2015 that a freshman host was the recipient of that honor. She also received an NAACP Image Awards nomination for Outstanding Talk Series for Tamron Hall in its freshman season and in September 2020, she accepted the Gracie Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host and dedicated the honor to Breonna Taylor.
When it comes to her hair, Tamron Hall said she has had her short haircut ever since she was 18 because her then-boyfriend was obsessed with Anita Baker and so she decided to go for an Anita Baker hairdo.
