Summer Walker was honored by her hometown of Atlanta as the city officially designated September 22 as Summer Walker Day. “Welp, I officially have my own day in the city of Atlanta … thank you,” she captioned a post on Instagram about the honor, which ironically came on the last day of the summer season. In the slides of her Instagram post, the 27-year-old can be seen surrounded by a group of her closest family and friends. She’s also seen dressed formally while showing off the proclamation paperwork.

2. Police give update on Mohbad’s autopsy

The Lagos State Police Command has given an update on the autopsy being conducted on the remains of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the autopsy was carried out by the best forensic pathologists in the country. In a post on his verified X handle, the command’s spokesman revealed that family members of the late singer were present during the autopsy.

The PPRO debunked the rumor that the process may be hijacked by some unscrupulous individuals who would not want the singer to get justice. He urged Nigerians to remain calm while the result of the autopsy is being awaited.

3. South Africa: K.O advises upcoming artistes

K.O, who has been in showbiz for more than a decade, does not hold back when it comes to sharing information about how to maneuver and make it to the top. When an aspiring artiste recently asked the rapper for advice, the “SETE” hitmaker weighed in on what he thought it took to get a big break. “If you can’t do it on your own try get signed to a credible label or get a proper management deal at least to help with the marketing. Build your brand, good music alone is not enough. Are you marketable? Do you have star power? Start there,” he wrote.

Amapiano sensation Lady Du also shared gems with her followers about recording music and royalties and why the entertainment business needs smart people. In the post, the “Umsebenzi Wethu” hitmaker said she wanted to share advice so artistes don’t fall into the same traps as she did. “Guys, educate yourselves on streams and the music business, I beg you. Everything you see on the internet is not what happens in real life. You’ll give up on serious careers thinking you can make this work. Entertainment requires a smart mind. Don’t chase fame,” she wrote.

5. Barcelona confirms Frenkie de Jong ankle injury

Barcelona have confirmed Frenkie de Jong’s ankle injury amid fears that the midfielder could be out until November. The Dutch midfielder had to be replaced by Gavi in the first half during Barcelona’s late 3-2 win over Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday. Although the club confirmed that it was an ankle injury, they have refused to put a timeframe on his potential return. They released a statement that read: “Tests carried out on the first-team player, Frenkie de Jong, show that he has an injury to the tibiofibular syndesmosis in his right ankle. He is unavailable for selection, and his recovery will dictate his return.”

Nonetheless, reports say that the player could be ruled out for the next five to seven weeks. This means that De Jong could potentially miss the first Clasico of the season against Real Madrid, which is scheduled for October 28.
