It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni.”

Nigerian megastar Davido’s upcoming “Are We Africans Yet (A.W.A.Y)” Atlanta festival has been postponed till November 2023 in light of the recent family tragedy. The “A.W.A.Y” festival was scheduled to hold on November 18, 2022, at the 20,000-capacity State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The show headlined by the multi-award-winning megastar was going to be supported by several stars including Mayorkun, Stonebwoy, BNXN, Kizz Daniel, Pheelz, Lojay, and other artists. However, in light of the recent painful loss of his son Ifeanyi Adeleke, the festival has been pushed back by 12 months and is now set to take place on November 18, 2023.

The management made this revelation in a statement on Thursday announcing the postponement. “We have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone A.W.A.Y Festival until Saturday, November 18, 2023. To all ticket buyers, your tickets will be honored for the 2023 date. We understand that you must be disappointed but we promise to come back with a bigger and better show. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to seeing you all in the near future.”

Summer time is here, hit them up and ask for Brad. He’s the best,” AKA wrote.

Chadwick Boseman’s iconic Black Panther suit from the widely popular 2018 Marvel film is set to go on display on March 24, 2023, at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. According to the NMAAHC’s official Instagram page, the all-black costume will be part of their upcoming exhibition, “Afrofuturism: A History of Black Futures. This exhibition will investigate Afrofuturist expression through art, music, activism, and more, and explore Afrofuturism’s historic and poignant engagement with African American history and pop-culture,” NMAAHC captioned their IG post in part.

Other objects on display include Octavia Butler’s typewriter, Nichelle Nichols’ Star Trek uniform as the character Lt. Nyoto Uhura and Nona Hendryx’s space suit-inspired costume worn while performing with LaBelle.

5. Arteta hints at reinforcements in January

Mikel Arteta acknowledged after Arsenal’s Carabao Cup defeat to Brighton that his squad is still “very, very short” of where he wants it to be. The Gunners boss made 10 changes to the side that won 1-0 at Chelsea on Sunday, and his second string fell short at the Emirates Stadium, going down 3-1 to the Seagulls. With the January transfer window beginning to loom large, the defeat was an example of why Arsenal will need to strengthen to keep up their early-season pace in the Premier League.

“That’s [January] a window that is open and we’ll have to discuss the opportunities that we have, the capacity that we have for any changes, and be in the market for opportunities. So it’s a lot of options that are open,” said Arteta in the post-match conference.
