Nostalgia gets a fresh sneaker treatment as Reebok revisits one of Nickelodeon’s most enduring animated series. The Reebok x Avatar: The Last Airbender collection turns characters, elemental symbols, and some of the show’s most recognizable visual details into four distinct footwear styles, giving longtime fans a way to carry the world of Aang and the Four Nations beyond the screen.

The collaboration with Paramount Products & Experiences arrives more than 20 years after “Avatar: The Last Airbender” premiered in 2005. Rather than simply decorating familiar Reebok silhouettes with obvious references, the collection takes a more considered approach, drawing from Aang, his sky bison Appa, the Avatar State, and the four elements to create footwear that works as both fan merchandise and contemporary sneaker design.

An Animated Classic Gets a New Chapter

Only a few animated series have maintained the cultural relevance of “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” The story follows Aang, the last Air Nomad and Avatar, as he travels with his friends to master water, earth, fire, and air while attempting to end the Fire Nation’s war.

That world gives Reebok plenty of material to work with. The Reebok x Avatar: The Last Airbender collection does not treat the series as a simple nostalgia exercise. Instead, each sneaker connects to a different part of the mythology, allowing the references to appear through textures, construction, graphics, and smaller details.

It is a strategy that makes sense for a series whose audience has grown alongside it. Fans who discovered Aang on Nickelodeon can now approach the collection as adults, while younger viewers can recognize the same characters and symbols through a more fashion-focused lens.

Appa Gets the Club C 85 Treatment

The $110 Club C 85 is perhaps the most immediately recognizable character reference in the lineup. Inspired by Appa, Aang’s loyal flying bison companion, the sneaker uses hairy suede across the upper to echo the creature’s distinctive fur.

Additional details keep the reference from becoming overly literal. Arrow-inspired detailing nods to Aang’s identity, while an embroidered elemental symbol appears on the heel tab. A fluffy lining adds another tactile reference to Appa’s coat, giving the otherwise familiar Club C 85 a distinctly character-driven makeover.

The result is a relatively understated tribute that rewards fans who know where to look rather than relying entirely on oversized branding.

The Four Nations Shape the Classic Nylon

The $110 Classic Nylon takes a broader approach, turning its attention to the elemental world at the center of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Water, Earth, Fire, and Air are represented through a combination of knit canvas-inspired underlays, hairy suede overlays, and cracked leather details.

A custom window box feature further develops the elemental theme, while interchangeable hook-and-loop tongue patches allow wearers to switch between the four elemental symbols.

This makes the Classic Nylon one of the more playful pieces in the Reebok x Avatar: The Last Airbender collection. Instead of centering on one character, it gives the wearer a visual connection to the larger mythology that made the series so memorable.

Aang Takes Over the Instapump Fury and Engine A 26

Aang himself receives two of the collection’s most expressive designs. The $220 Instapump Fury 94 draws directly from his appearance and abilities, combining mesh underlays with stretch canvas overlays, hairy suede accents, and suede mesh lining.

Its standout detail is a reflective arrow graphic that glows on the vamp, referencing the tattoos that identify Aang as an Air Nomad. The premium materials also give the classic silhouette a more elevated feel.

The $140 Engine A 26 moves in a more performance-oriented direction. Inspired by Aang’s powerful Avatar State, the design incorporates suede underlays, printed and debossed details, and glow-in-the-dark elements. Among the four styles, it feels like the clearest attempt to translate the supernatural energy of the series into a modern sneaker.

A Collection Built for Longtime Fans

According to Carmen Hardaway, Reebok’s global director of Classics footwear and energy collaborations, the partnership was designed for fans who grew up with the series and continue to celebrate it today. That idea comes through in the collection’s balance between recognizable Reebok silhouettes and references that reward familiarity with the show.

The Reebok x Avatar: The Last Airbender sneaker collection is also arriving alongside New York Comic Con, where Paramount will showcase a dedicated footwear wall inside its Paramount+ booth. The placement feels fitting for a collaboration that sits directly between animation, fandom, and sneaker culture.

Available in unisex sizing, the collection launches globally today, October 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. ET through Reebok. With four styles covering Appa, Aang, the Avatar State, and the Four Nations, the lineup gives Avatar fans several different ways to bring the animated world into their everyday rotation.
