1. Angola court orders seizure of Isabel Dos Santos’ assets
An Angolan court has ordered the seizure of the assets and bank accounts of the billionaire daughter of ex-President José Eduardo dos Santos. The seizure appears to be part of an anti-corruption drive by the current government in oil-rich Angola.
The administration of President Joao Lourenço is seeking to recover $1bn (£760m) it says it is owed by Isabel dos Santos and her associates. She has repeatedly denied wrongdoing during her father’s term in office.
Often described as Africa’s richest woman, Ms Dos Santos is estimated by Forbes magazine to have a fortune of $2.2bn. The 46-year-old lives abroad, saying she moved from Angola because her life had been threatened.
She runs a huge business empire with stakes in companies in Angola and Portugal, where she has shares in cable television firm Nos SGPS.

Rapper Lexii Alijai, born Alexis Alijai Lynch, 21, is dead. While the cause of death is not yet known, the news of Lexii Alijai being dead was confirmed by her family members on Facebook. As her cousin wrote in a tribute to the late musician, “You’re a real legend. If you know or heard her music you’d feel chills. Rest in paradise you’ll never be forgotten! I’m so lost for words… my beautiful cousin with so much talent & Unique soul Lexii Alijai It’s too soon.”

4. Julian Castro quits 2020 US presidential race
The former San Antonio mayor and Obama Cabinet member, Julian Castro, ended his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination on Thursday. The sole Latino in the race, Castro, 45, was a youthful presence in a contest led by a trio of septuagenarians.
However, lacklustre fundraising and low poll ratings left him little choice other than to abandon what was an uphill run from the start.
“It’s with profound gratitude to all of our supporters that I suspend my campaign for president today. I’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together. I’m going to keep fighting for an America where everyone counts, I hope you’ll join me in that fight,” Castro tweeted.
5. Paul Pogba to have an operation on an ankle injury
Manchester United’s Paul Pogba needs an operation on an ankle injury and is set to be out for “three or four weeks”, says manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Pogba was not in the United squad for the New Year’s Day defeat at Arsenal.
The French midfielder, 26, only made his comeback last month from an ankle problem that had kept him out since the end of September.
“We’ve had scans and it’s nothing major, but it’s something that has to be dealt with,” said Solskjaer. “He’s been advised to do it [the operation] as soon as possible and we will probably do it soon, so he will be out for three or four weeks. It’s a big blow because Paul is out now and Scott [McTominay] is also injured – he is out for a few months. We just hope that Paul can come back in a month-ish. But if Fred and Nemanja [Matic] played like they did today I will be happy.”
