Nike Unveils AC Monza 2026/27 Home and Away Kits That Celebrate Heritage Over Hype

There is something deliberate about choosing simplicity when the whole of modern football kit design is pushing the other way. Recently, every season brings louder gradients, busier graphics, and more patterns than the shirt underneath can carry. AC Monza and Nike, beginning their first season together as club and technical partner, went in the opposite direction with their latest kit. The 2026/27 collection is built on a unique perception of restraint, and there is much power to the “quietness.”

Nike takes over from Lotto as AC Monza’s official technical partner for the 2026/27 Serie A season. The partnership was announced earlier this year, and the kits, unveiled via a launch video titled “Un pomeriggio in villa,” are the first visual statement of what that collaboration produces. Both jerseys were revealed simultaneously, alongside a campaign placing them across iconic locations throughout the Monza and Brianza regions. The Away kit made its on-pitch debut on July 24, worn against Galatasaray in a pre-season friendly. Both kits go on sale on August 22 through GTZ channels and selected authorized retailers.

The Home jersey hides its strength in not trying to reinvent something at all costs. Monza red covers the entire surface, with no inserts to interrupt it. The only concession to classic style is a white collar that recalls the most iconic silhouettes in football history.

The reference points are specific. The club pointed to photos of the team that achieved its first historic promotion to Serie B in 1951 and the team that won the Coppa Italia Serie C for the fourth time in 1991. In both cases, the home kit featured a solid red base with a white polo-style collar. This shirt does not celebrate nostalgia. It uses it as material to build a new narrative, one that begins a Nike partnership while keeping grounded in what Monza has always looked like at its most essential.

The white Nike Swoosh and club badge are the only interruptions to the red. There is nothing else. That level of restraint in a contemporary Serie A kit is genuinely unusual, and it reads as confident rather than minimal. The result is an instantly recognizable piece that still marks the beginning of something new.

The Away kit is the reverse, entirely white except for the red collar, Nike logo, and Monza badge. The same design logic applies in the opposite direction. Where the Home shirt leads with red and allows white to define the collar, the Away kit leads with white and allows red to perform the same function in reverse. The two jerseys are mirror images of each other, a choice that makes the collection feel like a considered system rather than two separate decisions.

The Away kit features a subtle wavy and dotted pattern on the fabric, giving it a slightly more textured surface than the Home jersey’s clean base without disrupting the overall restraint of the design. The detail rewards closer attention without announcing itself from a distance, which is precisely the kind of restraint the collection is built around.

The Away kit was worn in the pre-season friendly against Galatasaray on July 24, making it the first of the two to appear on a pitch in a competitive context. The performance held. The shirt looked exactly as it should against a strong European opponent in a meaningful summer fixture.

AC Monza chose the hardest path in this particular moment of sports design: simplicity. That choice says something about where the club is positioning itself as it enters a new technical partnership and a new phase of its history. Monza was founded in 1912 and spent the majority of its existence outside the top flight of Italian football. The club won promotion to Serie A for the first time in its history in 2022 under the ownership of former AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani.

Berlusconi passed away in June 2023, but the club has continued under Galliani’s stewardship and remains in Serie A heading into 2026/27. A Nike partnership and a kit collection built around culture and heritage rather than novelty reflect the seriousness with which the club approaches its place in Italian football now. Both the Home and Away kits are available from August 22 through GTZ channels and selected authorized retailers. Full details are available through the official AC Monza and Nike channels.
