Fashion week remains one of the most electric periods on the style calendar, not only for the collections themselves, but for the way men across music, sports, and film step into the global spotlight dressed like they, too, belong on the runway. It’s the season when straight-off-the-runway pieces escape the shows and find real-world context—on red carpets, city streets, and stadium tunnels—worn with personality, confidence, and a sharp understanding of personal style.
Last week, Paris Men’s Fashion Week stood firmly at the center of this energy. The French capital buzzed with celebrities moving seamlessly between shows, presentations, and after-hours moments, each appearance doubling as a masterclass in modern menswear. Designers sent out bold ideas, and Black men across industries picked them up, interpreting the looks in ways that felt lived-in rather than costumed. Still, Paris wasn’t the only stage worth watching. From pre-game tunnel walks that rival runway finales to high-profile television premieres, Black men had plenty of reasons to show up and show out. Above all, the common thread was intention.
The Looks
At the Los Angeles premiere of Wonderman, one of the evening’s most refined red-carpet moments came courtesy of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The actor arrived in a sleek, all-black Zegna ensemble that leaned fully into quiet elegance. Anchored by a collarless jacket cinched neatly at the waist with a fabric belt, the look created a sculpted silhouette that felt both contemporary and ceremonial. Paired with fluid black trousers and polished black shoes, the outfit allowed impeccable tailoring and restrained detailing to take center stage. Altogether, it was an understated yet powerful choice that perfectly matched the prestige of the Disney+ debut.
Meanwhile, in Paris, Davido delivered a fashion week moment that was impossible to ignore at the Amiri Men’s presentation. He stepped out in a rich, retro-inspired look that balanced rockstar energy with runway sophistication: a brown velvet zip-up jacket, subtly embellished with shimmering details, layered over a deep red turtleneck. Tailored flared trousers sharpened the ’70s-leaning silhouette, while tinted sunglasses and layered jewelry completed the statement. Bold, luxurious, and unmistakably Davido, the outfit captured Amiri’s edge while commanding attention on the Paris streets.
Elsewhere, the runway extended into the sports arena, as Will Anderson Jr. proved once again that pre-game tunnel walks remain one of menswear’s most compelling stages. For the divisional round, he opted for a refined, high-fashion ensemble that blended modern luxury with effortless confidence. A burgundy Jil Sander jacket layered over a textured Maison Margiela sweater set the tone, paired with coordinating Margiela trousers for a clean, structured finish. Sleek black Dior boots completed the look, while a Louis Vuitton bag and dark LV eyewear added a composed, utilitarian edge.
