Hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion has won her civil defamation trial against blogger Milagro Cooper, who was found liable on Monday for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and promoting an altered sexual depiction. The lawsuit, filed in October 2024, accused Cooper, known online as Milagro Gramz, of participating in a coordinated campaign to harass and smear the Grammy-winning artist. Megan Thee Stallion, whose legal name is Megan Pete, testified that Cooper acted as a “paid surrogate” for rapper Tory Lanez, spreading false narratives to discredit her after Lanez was convicted of shooting her in 2020. Her attorney, Mari Henderson, praised the jury’s decision, stating it reinforces the importance of truth and accountability in an era where misinformation spreads rapidly across social platforms. The verdict requires Cooper to pay $75,000 in damages.
During the trial, jurors reviewed social media posts in which Milagro Cooper insisted that Megan Thee Stallion had not been shot, repeating claims that she merely stepped on glass, a narrative long debunked during Lanez’s criminal proceedings. Cooper acknowledged on the stand that she had been in communication with Lanez and had received payments from his father, though she claimed they were for personal or promotional purposes. After the verdict, Cooper told reporters she respected the jury’s decision despite her disappointment, adding that she was relieved the damages were not multimillion-dollar. Megan Thee Stallion’s case, which highlighted the broader issue of online harassment targeting Black women, arrives as Lanez continues to serve a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting, a conviction recently upheld on appeal.

Nigerian music legend 2Baba Idibia has reportedly been arrested in London following an altercation with his wife, Natasha Osawaru, during their trip to the United Kingdom for a concert tour. The incident came to light after the singer failed to appear for a scheduled show on October 2, prompting speculation about his whereabouts. During an Instagram Live session with broadcaster Daddy Freeze, the artist’s former manager, Kaka Igbokwe, confirmed that “everything you heard about the couple’s face-off was true,” alleging that the confrontation began when Osawaru became upset after feeling abandoned while 2Baba interacted with fans at an airport shop. According to Kaka, the argument escalated quickly, leading to police intervention and the singer’s arrest. A circulating video appears to show officers speaking with 2Baba before escorting him away.
Kaka and another former manager, Lori Tosan, claimed the airport confrontation was not an isolated occurrence, referencing earlier incidents they said involved verbal outbursts and “rage” between the couple. Tosan described Osawaru’s behavior as alarming, alleging that previous situations had nearly required police involvement and urging the public to “save our artiste.” The conversation grew tense when 2Baba himself joined the livestream, telling his former team members to stop discussing his personal life. Meanwhile, screenshots shared online show authorities engaging with the singer outside a London store, further fueling discussion surrounding the incident. London authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the arrest.

Norway has begun construction on what will become the world’s longest and deepest undersea road tunnel, a 27-kilometer (17-mile) engineering feat designed to transform travel along the country’s rugged west coast. Known as Rogfast, the tunnel will descend to a record-breaking 392 meters (1,286 feet) below sea level and form a vital part of the future ferry-free E39 highway. Although work initially began in 2018, the project faced delays due to cost overruns before resuming in late 2021. Now projected to cost about 25 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately $2.4 billion), Rogfast is set for completion in 2033. Once finished, it is expected to cut travel time between Stavanger and Haugesund, while shaving roughly 40 minutes off the journey between major cities Bergen and Stavanger. Designed with two traffic tubes and a rare 260-meter-deep double roundabout connecting to the island of Kvitsøy, the tunnel aims to significantly improve mobility for coastal communities.
Building a tunnel of this scale beneath the sea presents significant technical challenges, requiring advanced surveying, grouting, and safety systems. Construction crews are working simultaneously from both ends with a strict margin of error of just 5 centimeters (1.97 inches), using high-precision laser scanning technology to ensure the two sides meet accurately. Project leaders say the depth has already caused saltwater leaks, demanding innovative sealing methods to maintain safe working conditions. Once operational, Rogfast will include jet-fan ventilation, real-time incident monitoring, cameras, and radar to protect motorists along its immense length. As part of a broader effort to upgrade the 1,100-kilometer E39 highway and eliminate multiple ferry crossings by 2050, Rogfast is expected to boost regional economies, reduce logistics costs, and create long-term connectivity along Norway’s coastline, setting a new global benchmark in tunnel engineering.

Miley Cyrus has sparked fresh engagement rumors after being spotted wearing a diamond ring while attending the world premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 1. The 33-year-old singer walked the red carpet alongside longtime boyfriend Maxx Morando, 27, posing for photos with her left hand resting on his chest—putting the ring on full display. Though representatives for both stars have not responded to requests for comment, the sighting immediately fueled speculation that the couple, who have been together for four years, may be preparing to take the next step. Cyrus and Morando first confirmed their relationship in November 2021 after being set up on a blind date and later made several public appearances together, including at the Gucci Love Parade and Cyrus’s New Year’s Eve Party special.
Despite keeping their romance relatively private, Cyrus has occasionally opened up about their connection, describing Morando as both similar and refreshingly different from her. The pair has appeared together at major events throughout the years, including the 2025 Oscars and the Vanity Fair after-party, where their chemistry was on full display. Their latest red carpet appearance, with the unexpected sparkle of a diamond ring, has fans wondering whether the holiday season may bring big news for the couple.

FIFA is preparing to introduce VAR checks on the awarding of corner kicks at the 2026 World Cup, even though domestic leagues have rejected the idea over concerns about delays and resource limitations. The move follows discussions at the October meeting of the International Football Association Board (IFAB), where proposals to expand VAR to incorrect second yellow cards were supported. However, FIFA’s push to review corners was turned down. As a result, football’s governing body is now poised to run its own trial during the tournament in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. This mirrors previous World Cup-first innovations such as semi-automated offside technology and referees announcing decisions to the crowd. FIFA’s head of refereeing, Pierluigi Collina, has championed the change as part of broader efforts to improve accuracy, arguing that any error identifiable within seconds should be communicated to match officials.
Domestic leagues, however, remain strongly opposed, citing fears of longer stoppages and the significant technological infrastructure required to make such reviews efficient. While FIFA can deploy multiple video officials, specialized offside VARs, enhanced camera setups, and connected-ball technology, as it did during the 2022 World Cup, most leagues operate with just two VAR officials and limited equipment. IFAB has also warned that adding corners to the VAR protocol would force leagues across Europe and beyond to adopt the same standard, creating logistical strains and potential delays. Under FIFA’s World Cup plan, every corner would be checked before play restarts, though most reviews would be swift. If approved at January’s IFAB meeting, the system would mark a major shift from current VAR rules, which permit reviews only for goals, penalties, red cards, and mistaken identity.
