3. South Africa: Major League DJz complete 75-hour set

While on their mission to “take amapiano to the world,” the Major League DJz returned home from London this past weekend to make history and bring the Balcony Mix Xperience to their fans. During the first few days of her post-tennis career, Serena Williams is letting everyone know that she just needs some rest before embarking on what’s next for her. Taking to her Instagram account, the 23-time Grand Slam champion posted a picture of her tucked into bed under Disney character Moana-themed bedding, she wrote: “How was your weekend? This was mine ….”

On Friday night September 2, Williams, 40, played her reportedly last match ever, losing in a three-set defeat to Ajla Tomljanovic. Visibly overcome with emotion, she bid farewell to the sport, although she did leave the door slightly open to return one day. During her post-match press conference, Williams said she’d be opting for karaoke on the first day since retiring from tennis.

5. Bailly accuses Man Utd of ‘favoring English players’ after being loaned out to Marseille

Eric Bailly has accused Manchester United of “favoring English players” following his loan move to Marseille. The Ivory Coast international has suggested that United have been guilty of home nation bias when it comes to team selection, having seen the likes of Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw given regular roles in recent years despite their erratic form. Bailly has said that he hopes new manager Erik ten Hag can change that dynamic after being officially presented as a Marseille player on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old, who will ply his trade at Stade Velodrome on loan for the duration of the 2022-23 season, told reporters: “The club should avoid favoring English players and give everyone a chance. [The club should] encourage competition in the dressing room, not just look out for some. I’ve always had the feeling that the national player was prioritized. That doesn’t happen at Chelsea or other big Premier League clubs. Some people take it for granted that they are going to start, and that weakens the team. Luckily [Erik] Ten Hag has a lot of character and I hope he can change that dynamic.”
