Last Week’s Standout Menswear Was All About Luxe Steeze

With a week that opened with the New York premiere of Wicked: For Good, swept through the mid-week spectacle of the Country Music Awards, and finally unfolded into a string of galas and high-energy sporting events across major cities, there was no shortage of standout menswear moments. Actors, musicians, and athletes alike leaned into luxury pieces, sculptural tailoring, and sharp, expressive silhouettes. Together, they reminded us that men’s style thrives most when the calendar is packed, and the cameras stay alert.

If there’s one thing the best-dressed men taught us last week, it’s that menswear has finally shaken off the rigid rules that once defined it. Today’s dandies express themselves in whatever ways feel right. They are unrestricted, intentional, and undeniably personal. From bold color stories to unexpected volumes and tactile textures, the week delivered a series of standout looks that reflected the men wearing them.

The Looks

Colman Domingo set the tone early in the week, making a cinematic entrance at the Wicked: For Good premiere in a dramatic Dolce & Gabbana ensemble. His full-length brown fur coat carried an unmistakable old-Hollywood grandeur with its volume and texture. Beneath it, a soft cream blouse with a deep, liquid neckline introduced contrast and ease, while muted taupe wide-leg trousers elongated his frame and tied the palette together. Paired with sleek footwear, stacked rings, and immaculate grooming, the look became a masterclass in era-spanning glamour.

Over in Los Angeles, Michael B. Jordan delivered one of the week’s most compelling tailoring moments at the American Cinematheque event, where he was an honoree. His Louis Vuitton ensemble struck a masterful balance between texture and structure. The sleek black velvet tuxedo jacket, designed with a subtle wrap-style front, added both depth and polish. Meanwhile, the tailored trousers created a clean, elongated silhouette. Moreover, a sharp white dress shirt and classic black bow tie tempered the richness of the velvet, and glossy black dress shoes completed the look with quiet authority.

Meanwhile in London, Adekunle Gold brought a performance-ready take on luxury minimalism to the stage in a sleek Wales Bonner ensemble. His black double-breasted suit, finished with satin peak lapels, blended formal elegance with modern audacity, thanks to its shirtless styling. The relaxed yet precisely tailored trousers echoed the jacket’s clean geometry. Meanwhile, polished black shoes grounded the monochrome look. Finally, with understated jewelry and his signature composed presence, he transformed simplicity into spectacle.
