Cape Town’s legendary L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival took place on Friday January 10 and Saturday January 11 at the Kenilworth Racecourse.
Being one of the most iconic, most prestigious and oldest events to run in South Africa, it returned to celebrate its 159th renewal with all the fanfare and high style many have come to expect of the race. The blue and white theme of the event was inspired by the racing colours of Drakenstein Stud Farm, located on the L’Ormarins Estate.
Friday presented an exclusive LQP Garden Party with an abundance of bubbly drinks, a harvest table lunch and live jazz. The event also came with a fun-filled eight strong race-card. On Saturday, “The Style Village” came alive as guests enjoyed the sunshine, the finest hospitality, local food vendors and the horse race for the coveted R1.5 million prize.
However, L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival isn’t all about the racing for South African celebrities and influencers. It’s an avenue for them to show off their fancy and rave-worthy styles which they did.
According to the organizers, Equestrian Roxy Joubert was the best dressed lady at this year’s event. But they were many other ladies and gents whose style we can’t wait to replicate before the year comes to an end.
