lthough the idea of femininity has greatly evolved from stereotypical ladylike must-dos to personal preferences, we still see Black fashionistas embrace the allure of femininity even with individuality. Last week, Black style queens further nailed the phrase: “Your style, your choice” as they showed up in pieces that spoke volumes with a flair of personality. It’s in the way they decorated events with a beguiling enchantment of form-fitting pieces, to the edgy way they stepped out for casual engagements that keep us believing that our Black style queens are still 100% style chic.
With weddings and birthday shoots in full view, last week, our feeds may as well have become editorial spreads. These pleasantly adorned African-style queens kept the sartorial universe spinning correctly. Black style queens.
The looks
Ace Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde turned up the wedding guest switch in a statement feminine number by Nigerian designer, Tolu Bally. The full-length dress boasts rich details like embellishments and feathers and it equally did well to accentuate her frame. Also known as Omo Sexy, the iconic actress has been setting trends for over two decades and we’re willing to bet her reign would long continue. Black style queens.
Red still does it! Don’t believe us? Just watch the beautiful Ghanaian artiste Rebecca Acheampong sway in a bejeweled frock by Ghanaian designer Yartel. The mono sleeve red number played with her silhouette in only ways a sure piece can. She’s stylish and she knows it.
The styles shared by Black celebs and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them. Black style queens.
Check out last week’s best fashion moments from black-style queens around the world…
